Did we just land this kid???

It's completely out of the blue and I don't want to start rumors but on St. John's Class of 2013 facebook group a user listed as "Myck L. Kabongo (Philadelphia, PA)" said he is going to play at STJ next year on a full schollie.

he made a post where he said he played pg for st benedict's and they beat lincoln.

he's from canada.  and if he's 17 (bday would have to be in jan) then maybe it makes sense since echinique had a similar situation (although he was a '90 person, so not really).

Maybe it's just someone playing a prank or maybe it's a kid with the same name who is gonna be a walk on next year?  Just doesn't make sense.

sounds like a prank... but a strange prank.  kabongo's a 2011, as you said - how would he be able to qualify if he's only a HS sophomore?  if he was a junior, I could see that possibly happening...

If he did actually commit to SJU, he seems like a really good player, 3rd ranked PG by scout in the 2011 class. It has to be fake, we dont get good players :/

If this wasn't a prank, which I agree with you it likely is, it would be huge.  Kabongo, from what I've read is actually a 2010 commit, but I guess with the international education you never know.
