Seventeen have committed to the Big East.
Four were NY natives.

if we landed lance we would have the highest rated recruit in the big east
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

The highest rated BE class would be Villanova.

I would say we would jump over the Hall for 4th best class in the Big east but still below Cards,UCONN, Eagles,Nova.

Attack basketball, pressure defense, 40 minutes of hell ... Early on it might be 30 minutes of hell, then 10 minutes of what the hell are you doing?"

you know, not for nothing, but this class with lance, as good as it'll be, teams like uconn, Louisville, get them every year pretty much without fail...and teams like unc and duke do better than our class would be, every year...so the fact that we even finish with some wins is honorable

If things indeed break right, it would still be our best class since the Omar, Cuffe, Shaw, Miles, etc. class. With the natural maturation of our own roster and the atrophication of our Big East breathren (particularly at the top), St. John's should be a middle-of-the pack BE team next year. Any additional firepower in Jamaica is simply a bonus.

yea i know, and i dont disagree...and this would be a huge step in making things right again...but these kinds of classes need to become a yearly thing if this school is going to be a top 10 team again

Baby steps.
Let's first aim for a single Top 25 vote.

There were (bizarrely) one or two top 25 votes in 06-07 when the team beat that crap Notre Dame team with Russell Carter and... I forget.  Was it Pitt?  No, it was Syracuse.  And I remember Dickie Vitale saying something about the team.

Who were promptly crushed by Pittsburgh and Georgetown.  Ah, that was a year.  That 1 point overtime win over Boston U in G-ddamn overtime...
