Marillac, how dare you make fun of someone who has been through so much and persevered! The injuries, his academic problems and not to mention the fact that he fought so bravely for this country in WWII! Shame on you Marillac! :)

Lighten up Dave, Rob is a TAD older than a normal college student. I am pretty sure he realizes that and would not get offended at a harmless joke!

I assume he's only 23 or 24, right? Glover was probably 25 by the time he got out of here.

He obviously had difficulties in school, but give him credit: He's still here. There have been so many NYC players that were good enough to play in college, but disappeared off the face of the Earth during/immediately after high school.

Why is everyone so defensive about Rob Thomas.  The "kid" is 24.  I'm not much older.  It's not like I'm 40 and picking on a teenager.  If I were still participating in college athletics, I would expect a few jokes in my direction.

If the kid works so hard then why is he like 25% body fat?  He can't even play five minutes without getting winded and that has nothing to do with his knee injury.  Just because he couldn't read until like two years ago doesn't mean he is a saint.

LOL.    Duck Marillac!  Luckily Rob isn't a recruit,  or he may decide to go elsewhere ;)

The "kid" just turned 23. Most guys I know graduated at 22 assuming they did everything in 4 years. Most athletes who prep are right along with Rob Thomas' career path. His injury set him back another season so he is set to graduate when he is 24 years old.

05/28/1986

Also why rip the kid for his weight? Anyone who tears their ACL is most likely going to put on a few pounds. It's not like he didn't bust his butt in the summer to shed some of that and I'd expect him to come into this season in better shape than he was last season due to the fact he is closer to being 100% where as last season he wasn't.

I'm not trying to make Rob Thomas into something he is not but I don't recall him getting winded last season. His legs cramped up one game just like Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony's have this playoffs too...those things happen sometimes.

His physical conditioning is indicative of his work ethic.  He was in horrible shape last year.  Everyone makes it seem like he is the hardest worker.  He's clearly not.
