This is going to be the class that the head coach at St. John's, be it Norm Roberts or the next guy, will have to make a major move on, due to the massive amount of scholarship openings.

The NYers on the list are Yocoubou, MV's Hinds, Hayes' Nunez, and theoretically Chris Coleman.

The NJ players are Myles Mack, Desmond Hubert, and Mike Gilchrist. Given that Gilchrist, who doesn't exactly come from a lot of money, was spotted at a Cavs playoffs game two weeks ago with Calipari's partner  ;), WWW, it's safe to say that we can eliminate him.

Norm's biggest recruiting shot in the dark at St. John's, Tony Wroten, came in at #5.

not surprised by no taylor. he's mostly a jump shooter and that's it at this point.  still a high major player though.

i'm surprised nunez is on the list.  their scouting report cannot be anymore wrong though...

i've talked to more then a few opposing coaches about him, as well as seeing him play around 4-5 times, and the kid has a lot to learn.  we all agree his maturity and lack of basketball iq are his greatest weaknesses.  he shoots way too much and doesn't pass at all.  he does not consistently bring the effort on defense.  every time i have seen him play, he has gotten into a scuffle with an opposing player.

offensively, he is a bit streaky with his jump shot, but once he gets going he is unstoppable.  he is a pretty good dribbler.  offensively, the kid is a matchup nightmare.  he has SG athleticism and is a legit 6'7".  sure, he should get stronger, but he is a SG/SF in my eyes.

he would be a great get because i think his potential is outstanding.  but, he will have to mature and learn to be a better teammate if he wants to reach it.

i think he will go wherever book goes.  but that's just a guess.

i'll also say Achraf Yocoubou is a terrific player.  he really improve a lot over the course of the season.  earlier on his defense was inconsistent and he was out of control with the ball.  but seeing him at the state finals, he blew me away.  he practically locked down brandon triche (syracuse) and really played within the team concept.  he is a great athlete and is the engine that makes long island lutheran go, not tobias.

after the game i interviewed him and he really likes uconn.

i've only seen jabarie hinds at the sny invitational but he will also be a big time player.  his coach thinks he can be the "best ever" at mount vernon when all is said and done.  he always brings the effort defensively and is a good athlete.

2011 has a ton of talent.  sidiki, corey edwards, gayot, taylor, grace, kamari murphy, harkless, jermaine sanders (who will be a great, not good, great player), peter aguilar (more of a mid-major player but still very good), baltimore, and some others.

whoever is the head coach has to capitalize.  if it's a new coach, i'd be a lot more confident...
