Greivas Vasquez is coming back, I think thats great I like his game. Also Devan Downey of South Carolina needs to be mentioned at the top

You've been all over Vasquez for years.  He's not THAT good.

I wouldnt call it me "being all over" him, but ya I do like his game. He carried that Maryland team last year-hes another 1 of those players that seem like hes be on that team for 8 years.

Youre crush on Ced Jackson trumps all

Yeah, great pick he was.  Did you see his Chicago #'s (Vasquez)?  28 ich vertical--disgusting--and a nearly am impossible one rep at only 185 pounds.  The NFL--and every college football program--measures reps at 225.  I was repping 185 in middle school.

i don't know much about this kid Vasquez, but i did happen to see the 40 he dropped on Duke last year. That was impressive.  Then again,  so did Bootsy, and we saw how that translated at the next level.

john wall

BUMP

I might have to agree with you about John Wall, he could be the best. In recent years, some of the best players have been freshman(Rose,Love,Mayo,Beasley,Durant,Oden etc) and I think Wall will be the next. Ive only seen clips of this kid, but he looks better than Derrick Rose imo- a surefire #1 pick next year.

Where does Mason Jr fit in next year? Think he is a top 75,top 100 player in college hoops? What about Horne and DJ?

Really only 1 rep at 185? Can I get a link to this. I might have to write Maryland's strength and conditioning coach.

Summer between 8th and 9th grade I was repping 185 and so were half my teammates.  It's really not a hard thing to do at all and I'd say pretty much the standard for any rising 9th grader. We started our team lifting program in 7th grade.

For a 21 year old 200 pounder...it's ridiculous to not be doing 10-15 reps.

I went to Elmont Memorial for 7th/8th grade, and I definitely remember the two strongest kids in 7th grade benching 185 and 170. There were a bunch of kids in the 140/150 range. Can't tell you how many reps, though, or how big they eventually got because I haven't seen them since.

We had a lineman doing 245 twice before he set foot in high school.  By tenth grade we had several kids maxing 315 or more.  That is why we make the state championship every year.  Hard work.  Best lifting school in the state.  Everyone wanted their name up on the "1200 Club" for the four lift total:  bench, hang clean, dead lift, squat by 9th grade.

Also, regardless of when I first repped 185, it is a joke of a measurement.  Some adults walk into the gym without having lifted in years and can easily rep 185.  How does a wannabe professional athlete max that?

He is 6'5 and 195lbs and he can't bench under his own body weight one time? A major D-1 player who is a borderline pro. I won't go as far as Marillac saying I was doing this in 8th grade but it isn't uncommon for kids in highschool to be throwing up this weight multiple times. Jeez I'd expect him to toss up 225 more than once.

LOL 185 is nothing!  We had a girl--my friend's gf at the time--get close to that.  She was doing full sets of 155.  Of course, she was also the national champion pole vaulter.  Funny, because my friend who could squat a truck had the girliest bench press I've ever seen.

I think the long arms have to come into play.  Looking over the totals, it's just sad because these guys look ripped.
