Dave, right toughness. I hope you're wrong. This team needs a floor general. Why not start a scoring guard at the point? What's the worst that can happen?

Turnovers, lack of offensive execution...  In short, LAST YEAR!

I really don't care who starts on this team because Norm will spread the minutes out so everyone is fresh and us the depth as an advantage. The question is does Norm have a feel for the game with regards to sub patterns? If some one is hot leave them in and let them do their thing. If someone is playin great D leave them in for a while and let them lock the opposition down. Good coaches just know when not to sub, what combinations work best on the floor (match ups). I want see two guys come off the bench and avg double figures...think it can be done??

I'm really impressed that these guys didn't just put us pathetically low like everyone else. Someone there may have actually analyzed the potential talent and depth, instead of simply looking at our record from previous years. I'm starting to think low to mid-70s.

That said, it still wouldn't surprise me if I've given them too much credit and we aren't listed at all.
If you read full page of each review, they show their preseason conference rank.
They have BE ranked as of now:

16    DePaul  not in top144
15    So Fla       #139
14    Rutgers       114
13    Providence    98
12    SJU?,  SH?,  Cinn?

Even though we got embarrassed by them my money is on marquette being next.  Lose Mcneal, Matthews, Hayward, and James.  That's like 80% of last years scoring production.  Then prob us at 11th.

I think Seton Hall and Cincy are way up the list

I think Paris, DJ, Mase, Burrell & Evans can/will average 10+
I dont expect either Malik to.
But until the season starts & minutes & rotation settle,
cant tell what Hardy, Brownlee & Rob do... but its possible

We're better than Marquette? Woa. I know they lost everything, but with coaching and reserves, I bet they will still be a top 8-10 team in the BE.

We'll see.

Didn't Virginia lose to Montreal Community College last year?

Movin on up... :)

#76 Illinios State
#77 Iowa State

I didn't think we would be rated this hi preseason.
 (Not that 70's is high)
But I now think its deserved, after seeing the
newcomers all contribute immediately in Canada.

If we don't appear in the next release of teams, I think we're screwed. It'll be pretty embarrassing for a lot of us (myself included) if we are actually 15th or 16th in BE in their eyes.

You'll know whether we are on it or not when they name the next BE team.  It absolutely should be us, if its not, I think we're not on it.

We SHOULD be ahead of usf at the very least - I think you'll see us soon.

Relax guys. We'll pop up in the 70's.

We're on the list. Whether we have any faith in Norm or not doesn't change that we have 4 players returning who averaged double figures in points.

Notre Dame, Seton Hall, Georgetown and Cincy really weren't that much better than us. We would have beat Cincy at Alumni Hall if we only had some depth.

Now, DJ can lose his cool, get tossed, and Lawrence can take his place.

SJU can't play defense for 40 minutes with 5 capable players.

ND, Cincy, Seton Hall, and GTown are all more talented and better coached than us.  GTown had an uncharacteristically down year and fell apart --- will not happen again --- would bet on it.  Cincy added Lance and should potentially flirt with the top 25.  SHU and ND who knows, I could see us doing better, I could also see us not being in their league.
