Omari Lawrence played really well down the stretch.  Nice to see the freshman get some big minutes in a close game on the road.

I'm far from a member of the Norm Roberts fan club.  However, with these early season games,a win is a win.  Every school i've seen in action so far has not looked good at all. Put it in the win column and move on.   A gift maybe, but a win nonetheless.
Plus its hard to judge anything via John Minko or sport-tracker.

I agree with you to an extent. We have to be happy about being on the winning side of a close game in addition to getting a road win. However I do think you can take some things you can be skeptical of this game. We need to work on somethings and thats for sure but I'm happy about the win.

we got the win. thats all that matters..and you never know, the bonnies could win a few games this yr and turn this into a "good" win

Man, its a win.  This game reminded me of that loss @ Richmond last yr where we played well and choked it away at the end.  Give the team credit for not handing the game away and for keeping the aggressive play up.  Let's hope they learn from this.

This ain't Xavier or Temple, but the Bonnies are A10, and they did just beat a team that won a game in the dance last year.

Granted, without Cedric "The Entertainer" Jackson.

I already looked at Brown's roster, and they are small no one over 6'8. STJ better dominate down low give the ball to Evans and Burrell and let them go to work. As far as today, its a win, on the road. Norm gave the team a C+ overall and an A in toughness.

To be fair... we may have received a gift but we definitely handed out some tonight as well.

I would have liked the score margin to be wider. However, I will take it (for now) because it's the begining of the season AND their team seems be in the same stage we are.

One positive we did tonight (from the box scores) is that we shot well from 3PT land and the FT line. Something we haven't seen in awhile (at least not in the same game).

IMO... I think Norm needs to make is substitution patterns better and press more.

I think we lose this game in previous years. When the well went dry it sounded like Brownlee,Hardy and Omari came through. Good win

wow, the big guy Nicholson went 11-15 from the field, 4-4 from the line,26 pts. Listening, it sounded like he was throwin hook shot after hook shot in

He is of the Jason Thompson mold. A very skilled player who might go to the NBA but plays in a lesser conference.

http://www.ajc.com/sports/st-john-s-edges-202297.html

Malik Boothe made two free throws with 6.2 seconds left as St. John's beat St. Bonaventure 69-68 on Tuesday.

The Bonnies (1-1) inbounded and got the ball to Michael Davenport, who missed a long 3-pointer at the buzzer.

The Red Storm (2-0) were led by D.J. Kennedy, who had 18 points, and Paris Horne, who had 15.

Andrew Nicholson, who was 11-for-15 from the floor, led all scorers with 26 points. Two of his points came on free throws that put the Bonnies up with 11.1 seconds remaining.

After Nicholson's free throws, St. John's inbounded the ball to Boothe, who drove the length of the floor and was fouled by Chris Matthews in the lane. He calmly sank both shots.

The Bonnies battled back from a seven-point deficit in the final 3 minutes, but came up short when Davenport's 30-foot shot bounced off the back of the rim.

St. John's were 8-for-17 on 3-point attempts.
