Sporting heavy cologne, Braica spent at least 8 hours yesterday observing this collection of talent.

What kind of cologne?
Difficult to gauge, but strong enough to question whether he showered...Somewhere between these two ;)

TMI....too much information. Glad he was out there recruiting. I think Braica has the best eye for talent on the staff.

Maybe Braica's cologne is the reason we can't land a top 75 prospect...lol

NTSG - how's your cousin doing?  He's been MIA from rm.com for a long time now.

Wasn't he the one who unearthed Phil Wait?

he supposedly practically stalked wait before convincing him to come here.

braica is at st john's to hold norm's hand.  he has no other function whatsoever.

He's getting better, but he's had some serious health issues for almost two years.

Was there an event?  The link is just a roundup of the talented schools.  Or was Braica at Hargrave? Sorry about that, it's the National Prep Showcase.

Interesting note about post-grads/ 5th years - even though the article doesn't say that all those guys were 5th year kids, I think the way it's written would leave that impression.  I thought Luol Deng wasn't, and I was pretty sure Joakim Noah wasn't.  I could be wrong, but I remember UNIS having a player, and I meant to see him at Lawrenceville, where I don't think they do 5th years (this I heard from folks who went there).  A small quibble.

Get some talent, Braica!

Spotting the talent is not the hard part, selling yourself to them is and no one on this staff seems to be able to sell St. Jonh's to top level talent.

No, Peter, they had sophomores, including two of the best in the country in Andre Drummond & Khem Birch and as well as a 7'4" Canadian import, and a freshman, a 7'2" Canadian (his brother). Deng was just a standard senior. This 6' guard Carter Newell, a Pennsylvanian that is finishing up in Charlotte, blew up in front of Braica. He dropped 37, which was easily the high of the day, against a loaded Winchendon (Birch, Markus Kennedy, James Stukes and roughly 8 other D-One players). Frankly, on this one day, he shot it better than any St. John's point guard since at least Barkley. There were apparently members of 81 coaching staffs there over the course of the day.

Isn't that like being tall for a midget? Or being good looking for an ugly girl? Dave that was clearly a backhanded compliment at best!
