St. John's 80 Siena 71

My prediction.

Siena really lost a lot with Hasbrook graduating.  I like Frankllin, but he is only 6'5 or so and is really their starting four.

Hardy will have a 4-6 treys.  Paris will have 3-5 himself.  DJ will be the man on the boards--double-digits or close enough.  I wouldn't be surprised if he grabbed over a dozen.

Does the team look that good so far to you?
Because I would think that Siena will enter the game as a slight neutral court favorite.

When the write up's done, I will address how I think this game isn't going to be the arse-kicking some think it will be.  But I worry about the team's ballhandling... and honestly, about the rotation.  I think Coker should sit this game out... and when Evans starts dribbling you'll hear me across the country yelling NONO NOOOOO like a horror movie.

I really think that if this team can manage not to get Boothe trapped in the corner, and Evans only handles the ball to pass, this game might be a win.  Hell, I'd play Brownlee at the 5 for stretches.

you would think Norm would do the same thing but he has let him continue to do this since Freshman year..

Siena's bench is not living up to expectations. Clarence Jackson(who was 6th man of year and took over for Hasbrouck)  continues to shoot, no matter what. This is not the Siena of the last 2 years and is overrated IMO. We need to win this game

Siena 75  SJU- 68

Anyone happen to see the link on redmen.com from the siena boards.  pretty funny stuff.  They(the fans) consider st. johns a cupcake. and refer to Roberts and Fred Hill as the "dumb and dumber " of the big east.

Siena lost to Temple. They are no longer top 25 and will never sniff the top 25 again.

Lets hope the players and coaching staff are overlooking us as much as their fans.  Maybe Temple isn't as bad as you think.  They did give Georgetown a battle. ;)

I am betting we will be getting 4 or 5 points

The rotation needs to be tightened up for this one. Keep Coker to short stints. Leave Q on the bench completely. I hope we just run the starters plus hardy, brownlee, stith, and MAYBE, omari for a few mins.

Sienna hasn't been as good since they lost that coaching great who rightfully should be holding practice at Taffner while we speak...Paul Hewitt.

What are you talking about? They won a 1st round game the last 2 years?

Next couple of games will give us a good indication of where we stand. I think Siena is a bit overrated on past performance but that's not to say they don't come out and play a great game. Last years STJ team would be 1-2 coming into this game because we would of lost to the Bonnies on the road and to Brown at home but we found a way to win. I say we find away to win vs Siena...hopefully we light it up from outside and Burrell awakens from his slumber. We put it all together this game
