Kennedy = James Harden?
« on: December 06, 2009, 03:32:02 PM »
They are both the same size.  They are both lefty.  They both possess insane passing ability, and the ability to get into the lane when they need it.  They both are good but not great athletes, and they both have good, but not great jump shots.

Harden has a tighter handle and a slightly better jumper, but DJ is a better rebounder. Harden is a little smoother with the ball, and has a very nice crossover and stutter-step, but he was also a top 3 pick.

Harden was my favorit player in college basketball last seanon. his game is so smooth and he had such an all around game. DJ is having a great season so far. To really got recognition he needs to play great in conference and in big games, and lead this team to the dance, so far so good.

when comparing the two i just see DJ as more of a three and harden as more or a two. they both can play the point aswell
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

I see them both as point-forward types.  I guess Harden could be considered more of a pure guard, but in the half court I don't see much of a difference.

I thought Harden was awesome last year, and I don't think DJ has quite the same ability to get into the lane as Harden (yet), but they are similar enough that I think DJ will be considered a late first rounder by mid-season.

In Jay Bilas' weekly wrap up column on espn insider,  he lists DJ as the best unknown player.  THis is the second time he mentioned him in his column.

"Best "Unknown" Player: D.J. Kennedy, St. John's. The lefthander is a playmaking small forward who is skilled, tough and has great poise. Against Duke, Kennedy did not score in the first half, but finished with 18 points, four rebounds and nine assists with only one turnover."

  Finally,  a voice of reason.  Can't compare DJ to Harden. Harden was a 1st team all-American  and a #3 overall pick.  this is not a knock on DJ.  He's our best player and a great leader. Did Harden leave early?

  I do believe 1st team Big east this season is a good possibility if he continues playing like he is.
  Is he a 2 or 3 at the next level? If he's a three,  is he tall enough.  If he's a 2g,  can he shoot from the outside well enough.  He could be a tweener.

DJ has improved tremendously. Reminds me of a poor man's Jalen Rose in college. I think DJ has a shot to hook up and make an NBA roster if he keeps showing improvement on his J

I compare him favorably to every shooting guard/small forward who had a very good yet relatively unheralded four-year career, and then kicked ass at one of the senior camps and snuck into the NBA first round.

I think DJ is 1st Team All-Big East this year and will be a late first round pick next year in the draft.

i think he has more than a shot. if he can develop into a point foward he is a 2nd round pick.

Yeah, that was garbage when Prez and Hilton didn't make any pre-season BE teams.

We're the Rodney Dangerfield of the Be.
