One starter was on crutches and three more were bumped from the lineup for disciplinary reasons, but even that couldn't slow St. John's fast start to this season.
The Red Storm took its new and improved act to the city's biggest stage Wednesday night and got good reviews. The Johnnies overcame a foul-prone and sloppy first half with a strong beginning to the second and pulled out a 66-56 victory over Georgia in the first game of the SEC-Big East Invitational at the Garden.
