Ask him if he is thinking about transferring to a prep school to play against decent competetion regularly in high school..?

haha. seriously though, he plays AAU for the Playaz Club so he has PLENTY of opportunity to compete against some of the best in the country.

hahaha..i can laugh even harder at this than probably anyone on this board.

my high school team regularly plays hills west
and lets just say basketball is not the strong sport of LI public high school athletics, especially our league.
this kid is playing mostly against 6'2 and under white kids who play basketball as a 3rd sport and use it to stay in shape for lacrosse season in the spring.

but at the same time, AJ Price and Jason Fraser both came out of Amityville High School into the Big East.

I thought you had mentioned previously that he was playing for your team this summer..?

It seems like New York is back on the map in more ways than one as its top tier talent is beginning to pay attention to local schools and vice versa.
 
Tobias Harris, a talented 6'7" sophomore from Dix Hills, NY, received an offer from St. John's University on Tuesday according to Harris' father, Torrell.

Torrell Harris says, "He's been playing with the guys there twice a week and likes Norm Roberts. It looks like he's (Coach Roberts) trying to turn the program around."

According to Torrell Harris, his son will be taking an unofficial visit to St. John's next week, "Probably Wednesday."

In addition, Torrell Harris says his son received an offer from Xavier on Friday. Although pleased about the offer, Harris would go on to say, "We don't know much about Xavier except that Tobias knows Booker (Emanuel Richardson)".

Well its good to see that we finally offered him.  Nothing to get excited about yet but atleast Norm and St. John's are being mentioned by big time NYers again.
