Justin Burrell

What is going on?  How did he only get 7 mins of burn last game?  The dude is flashing and playing passionate ball when in, doesn't make sense that he got so little time after extended time against PC.  Is Norm just trading off which player to make his whipping boy?  Is there a dispute going on?  Anyone know anything further about this?

Norm is crafty! He figured by not playing Burrell it would lead to someone starting the 6978th Burrell thread, thus taking some of the heat off of the 1,999,999 Norm should be fired threads.

Something was wrong with Justin on Saturday. I think he was sick.

In the 1st half he did an odd firgure roll dunk attempt that missed badly with no one on him. In the 2nd half he took a long turn around jump shot that hit nothing and did not see time after that.

Now Paris takes wild driving shots every game, Sean misses at least 2 layups a game and Justin2 take a least 3 bad shots a game.

Not sure what going on with Justin.

He got blocked on the layup and fell short of the rim on the baseline jumper(which I wish we'd run more looks for him to do that wow is that hard to defend). If he got yanked due to that then we have some problems.

It is weird. He should be starting. Evans can't hit a free throw, or defend. He's actually regressed.

Wouldn't surprise me --- or anyone I'm sure --- if Norm has selected his new whipping boy --- only this time, Norm can't make the argument that the only thing JB can do is shoot....bc he never gets the ball in a position to!

He hasn't regressed, he's just never done those things well. Sean has certain qualities that he does very well but he also has certain fundamentals that he lacks. You'd think by his junior year some of these would be addressed.

Yes, he's played more aggressively and better since returning from the sprain. It'd have been difficult for him to play less aggressively or worse. Playing passionately is a bit of a stretch for a guy who's gotten 6 rebounds in his last 3 games.

I am not nearly as high on Justin as others, but just based on his performance as recently as two years ago, he is much better than this! Just on his potential alone he should at least play more. Evans might play harder but he is also might be the stupidest basketball player on the planet.

Now with that being said a coach should see that he does box out but point out to him he needs to reap the rewards of his effort. After he boxes his man out he needs to attack for the ball. This is where I see that we lack guidance at times.

It's funny.  I point this out all the time too.  Have you ever known another guy, whether in NBA, college, or even your intramural leagues, who takes the effort to box out and DOESN'T explode for the ball to get the board like Justin?  I mean once in a while you get stuck or whatever, but I don't know anyone who does this regularly other than him.  It's very weird, and seems like it should be something pretty easily corrected.

I'm not saying that he doesn't do things well or that he shouldn't play. But to say that he expends maximum effort or plays with passion is a bit crazy. If he had eg Evans motor he be a force.
