Bob Knight to Rutgers?

Their would be a mass suicide on St JOhns board if these rumors turn out to be true. Supposedly they will fire Hill right after the season and Knight will be in town

He's a great coach. Put Texas Tech on the map. I'd take him here in a NY minute, but is he too good for SJU? I mean, he wins, and that's just not what we're about.

ever notice that Bob Knight is only interested in jobs where he gets to wear red?  Indiana, Texas Tech, rumored to Georgia at points, now rumored to Rutgers.  Guess he's too cheap to buy new sweaters!

This would be a huge get....the key is getting a program on the map, once on the map, a state school like rutgers might be able to get a legit coach in long term.

St Johns is so mickey mouse.

No idea if its true but if Rutgers is going to make the move to the Big Ten as has been speculated, it would be a fantastic hire.

It's a good hire if they have someone ready to succeed him.  Rutgers would have to be prepared in case Knight decided to retire after 1 or 2 seasons.

You should read the thread. They have Knight coming is with Lawrence Frank as his assistant, HC in waiting. Nice to know SJ fans aren't the only ones who are delusional.

Lawrence Frank told Adam Zagoria a week or 2 back that he had no interest in coaching in college.

I think it's more realistic that Suge Knight would be the coach of Rutgers before Bob Knight.

Wow, their fans are more delusional, if that's even possible.
Knight/Frank/Boyle....

and here we just have dreams of Crooked Calamari and Rick the Accused Rapist, with an occasional Mrs. Margaret McCaffery throw in for entertainment purposes.  :-*

There is more proof of Norm being a capable basketball coach then there is of Pitino being a rapist.

If big foot came here Old Red would be posting about how great of a recruiting class we are going to get because he really resonates with some highly ranked bigs, and RSHF would give him 10-20 year despite killing some fans/player and not being able to recruit (or even speak).

I think our friend Scotch/Old Red 77 & 88/DJRed1 was last seen stumbling down Queens Blvd mumbling something about "Norm lying to him" , DELE COKER BEING A BEAST and being upset that DJ didn't say hello to him the last time he randomly "bumped into him" on campus.

I think he was really worried about  all the crow that was going to shoveled down his throat in March or maybe it was worried that Tommysea & Marillac were still looking to collect on their bets from two years ago.
