Fire Norm.  It's time.

Norm's office should be empty by the time the team bus pulls into the parking lot tonight...

this was a game where I expected us to win because it would be enough for our pathetic excuse for an admin to keep Norm around. but the team came out flat and just looked like they were going through the motions. gotta wonder if they know something/are starting to give up on Norm.

and after a TO with like 4 mins to go, Norm puts DJ on the bench after he just scored like 8 straight points and was draining 3's...at that point I was thinking Norm is doing everything he can to get himself fired...hopefully this was enough.

There's really nothing to say.  This is absolutely pathetic.

Been reading threads on here for a while, first post though.

Kennedy should be starting at the point. He dominates the ball and runs the offense anyway so why not? That way we can start Kennedy, Hardy, Mase, Burrell, and Evans. Boothe is useless as we all know, why does Norm love him? hes part of the reason he will be fired.

I thought our student support was just as poor too. Redzone needs some Jungle love but University is too damn stubborn to listen.

-How do they not move down in that section some to get better seats

-why not stand and chant a little as a unit?

-If you gave out Tee's for the trip then you should have got everyone wearing them

I will say one positve is that I really like seeing Mason Jr. back on the court. He made some really nice passes and overall he's been crashing the boards and playing defense really hard. He looks very off rhythm shooting or even looking for his own shot but hopefully that will come.

I think he's gone.  Rutgers looked like an awesome team against us.  They scored 1.2 points per possession!  A team that's just been unable to score under Fred Hill!

Let's talk some truth here.  Mason looks like he's lost either his athleticism or his confidence.  He made nice passes and crashes the glass, but he needs to be a dynamic scorer.

I cannot believe Rutgers scored that much against St. John's.  I can't believe we provided N'Diaye with his NBA highlight reel.  I can't believe we let Mike Rosario think he is a great scorer, even when defended.  I watched this late, and I almost got emotional.  I expect the worst, but this team cannot compete in the Big East.  This game's proof.  I think some guys quit, at least early - I think DJ missed some assignments, for example.

And why in the eff does the team need a timeout to attack a zone that the same team used earlier in the game?

Justin's jump shot looked nice.  His post dribble is still too, too loose.

I should have just watched Lost.

1- a few students did move down and got thrown out...their security hassled us even more than our own do

2- we were standing and cheering the entire game until the end of the 2nd half...can you blame us for not caring at that point?

3- mostly everyone was wearing the white shirts they gave out...would you have rather me wore the white shirt than the johnny jungle shirt?

i have no idea how we soundesd on tv, but i was surprised with how much everyone was actually cheering, especially considering ive never seen a majority of those people at any other game...a few of us chanted "fire roberts" and "no more norm" while rutgers was shooting free throws towards the end of the game cause it was really quiet in there...he definitely heard it

This is pretty off topic, but I wasn't sure where else to post it. Apparently, some of the guys in Redzone went to Norm personally before this years stormfest and asked if he could help buy some food for the event since the Redzone budget was really small. He not only rejected, but minutes later called Fr. Maher to complain about it.

Also, one of the guys in Redzone lives upstate and was on vacation during winter break so he missed a few games. One of the assistant coaches texted him over break saying "so we lose a few games and you guys gave up on us?"

There are some coaches (not referring to st johns coaches) that are simply in over their heads but are good guys that you actually feel bad for and want them to succeed. But these clowns are just impossible to root for. Clean house and get them all the hell outta here already.

I don't fault you one bit. My comments weren't directed at you but rather the body as a whole. Anytime they showed them on TV they made sure they got the dorkiest looking kids with glasses made us look like njit.

Lenn's article gets right to it. His tweet mentioned the reactions of the players, so does the article: http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/college/basketball/withering_storm_have_bad_knight_HGQ6LmzXrCtPd91OPMPijM

Mike Vac calls for Norm to be gone in clear, consistent language: http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/vaccaro/role_wednesday_whacks_and_joba_john_RHghUTOjponL1avF1V6s2I

NY Daily News article that must be written by a message boarder: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/college/2010/02/03/2010-02-03_what_a_knightmare.html (name changes don't lose your program, bad coaches do, commenter.)

Game recap from me with how they did on the 5 Keys to the game (Dave, I'll try to post this on JJ later); http://theeastcoastbias.wordpress.com/2010/02/03/game-21-rutgers-84-st-johns-72-nailing-the-coffin/

Never should have pulled Hilton before he was in foul trouble.  He had Rosario in check then he went out and the torch was ignited against Hardy boyz and Omari.

Pulled within 6 with 7 min to go when Prez who is going very well get's pulled.  Game over.  It's Tuesday...we last played Thursday...we don't play again till Saturday...he's in shape and 20 years old. Leave him on.

Rosario is on fire and Hill, a smarter coach than Norm?, plays him for a full 39 minutes yesterday.  That could have been D-buckets leading us to victory over Cornell and Nova, but Noooooo.

Could Dele have been developed into the N'di"yjida'!' role for us?

Dwight gets run over by Rosario in perfect position for the charge and doesn't get it.  That call hasn't been working out for us of late.

The rac is no longer the RAC!  Can't use that as an excuse.

What have I done to deserve this?  I feel ill.  See you on Saturday.  Should be interesting.
