Great effort tonight!

Everyone played well and for once we played a full 40 minutes.  Nice to see the players having fun too.

this is unreal...this team can't even LOSE when we need them to! this game is complete fool's gold as Louisville came out uninspired and just slept walked thru the game (except Samuels), not to mention they are not that good to begin with. Idk if Father Harry was in attendance, but considering the "festivities" (if u wanna even call them that, how do u celebrate the final 4 team w/o Jackson/Mullin?) I bet he made this game his one MSG appearance. If F.H. was there, this is the worst win in the history of college basketball. to him it looked as though Norm had everything under control. we finally handled a press and beat a zone defense, and were agressive and making plays on the defensive end. this win means at least 2 more years of Norm and I couldnt be more mad about it....

...HOWEVER, as a fan of this team it was great to see the players compete out there and actually look like they knew what they were doing. I jumped out of my seat when DJ threw that lob to Mase. So good for the players, but its like Norm just loves to tease us.

I am happy for the team to win, ESPECIALLY on the big night for the 85 team.  It was a great night for St Johns!  And it was great to see the players happy and laughing on the sidelines - they all work hard and deserve it.

They also deserve a new coach, and I am sure the rest of the season will continue like the season before today went.  Louisville was overrated.  Notre Dame and Seton Hall will beat us in succession.  But I'm happy we won today!

Nice win.  I'm EXTREMELY happy for the players.  We somewhat knew what we were doing against a zone, but at the same time Louisville was freakin AWFUL.  Their guard play was atrocious.

just when i forgot the one thing norm brings to the table, he busts it out again. Our fight. last year we couldnt hang with teams but our guys battled every play. that is the biggest difference between tonight and our terrible losses.

offensively, we shot terrible and our 3pt was pathetic, but we scrapped back after every run they went on in the second half, and we went to jb in the post....he responded with a monster game, i havent seen the numbers but it was the best ive ever seen him play.

defensively we played with our feet and were a step ahead on their backdoor and lob passes.

to go with the bad shooting we had some terrible turnovers, weak interior defense and poor rebounding, but if we play with this passion and fight we can be competitive. with that said, this big win does not validate the terrible losses this season. this win proved these players deserve a coach, not that norm deserves his job.

Great win, a little too late to play this good but ill take it...

Nothing but Pos thoughts tonight...

-I kill him whenever i get a chance, so i have to give him credit.  Boothe played with confidence and looked like a different player tonight.  Night and Day from what he's been since conference play started.

-Last 4 games Justin has looked as good as he did as a Frosh.  Keep being aggressive and Physical

-We flat out out-hustled them (killed them on the offensive glass)

-We not only knew what we were doing against the zone and press, but combine it with the execution and it was a beautiful thing to watch.

-Defense came back to life tonight

Pitino pointed out that all the New York-area Big East schools need to improve their facilities to attract star recruits. And in fact, Louisville is unveiling a brand new $350 million arena in downtown next year.

"Rutgers, their facilities are nowhere near what the rest of us have," Pitino said. "Why would a recruit on a 36-hour visit do that [commit]? It's tough for St. John's and tough for Rutgers to attract those kids who are on a 36-hour visit.

"They're not on the same-level playing field from a facilities standpoint. Now it didn't matter tonight because they kicked our butt."

Good to see we got points in the paint rather than settling for so many perimeter shots like in the second half of the WVU game. I laughed at the NY Times write up. "A fan yelled to Pitino 'Hey Rick, forget it! The Nets don't want you!'"

The refs took Justin out with the BS foul calls.  I was happy when I noticed that the little round guy with the white hair and his crew weren't doing the game---but this crew was even worse.  Even though we won by 19, the refs did their best to take the game away from us.
