First problem I have with this is he couldn't give the site credit by name?  Second problem is the need for him to bring up that Dave "incorrectly" labeled the incident as a fight.

People need to look up the definition of a "fight."  A "fight" does not have to be physical.

Fight- an intense verbal dispute

DJ got into some sort of fight in Taffner. Evans and another player might have been involved. Details will surely come out soon. Very disappointing.

I find that they couldn't address the site by name funny. It's ok. I generally like Rubin's stuff

As far as I've seen, the NY papers - and a number of others - don't give names to websites that would, well, provide more information than the main papers do.  Makes sense.  it's bad business.  But the more blog friendly outlets - SNY, Louisville Courier-Journal's basketball blogger - are more ok dropping the names of sites (if not links).  That's what I've seen anyway.

The Newark examiner has used the name of the site before

No need to expose oneself to legal problems.  It is always safer not to name the site if not necessary.

Also, the St. John's official twitter feed run by the SID took a mini-jab at JohnnyJungle.  Here is the tweet:
