Summer Camp Clue?
« on: March 04, 2010, 11:29:52 AM »
If you click on this link, you'll see that while some 2010 summer camps are listed, for both Norm Roberts and Kim Arico, the link suggests it is only to the 2009 summer camp info.

http://www.redstormsports.com/camps/stjo-camps.html

However, when you click on Coach Kim's, it directs you to information re: her 2010 camp and how the dates are set!

http://www.redstormsports.com/sports/w-baskbl/spec-rel/041708aad.html

When you click on the link for Norm's, it only takes you to last year's info re: 2009 camp.

http://www.redstormsports.com/camps/07-norm-roberts-camp.html

Am I reading too much into this?  Probably.  I do find it interesting though that on the main page it's both listed as 2009...why would they not update Kim's to 2010 so people can check it out...and also....why is Kim's camp set but not Norm's?

b/c Norm is retiring (I hope) OR b/c Norm hasn't set camp dates yet...

Taken alone it would probably be to remote, but adding it to everything we already have it might be legit.

It seems weird that they would advertise for one and not the other.  They both follow the same rules NCAA rules and use the same facilities.

Norm is a goner.

This has nothing to do with rules. Plenty of teams have both camps advertised. The women follow the same rules.  They also have the same facilities.  Moreover, almost all schools come out with the info for both teams at the same time.

There could be something to this.

So you think maybe they alerted Norm he will be fired and he wanted to finish out the season? If you remember, the Mets did that with Art Howe a while back.

At least disgruntled fans are consistent here…

This is the third year in a row this thread has appeared on at least one of the boards, I found last year's on BEB.

Well we all can't be as accepting of the p.o.s. the school tried to force on us as you are.

It's going to be a tough next couple of weeks for you, huh?

And since you found last year's, you would also know that you astutely pointed out that the thread was INACCURATE.  Beast of the East said girls was up and boys wasn't, and you proved to him that was a lie.

It's not a lie this time.

Here's the thread from last year:

For the record, I'm not suggesting this necessarily means he's done, but I do think it means it hasn't been decided yet.  And perhaps, if it was delayed last year as well, it was for the same reason.

Wait a minute! Everyone is missing the point. Norm HAS A BASKETBALL CAMP ;D Is it like Meatballs? Is Bill Murray a counselor? Is excuse making a drill? Since Norm only knows about two minutes worth of basketball what do they do the rest of the day? Besides RSHF what parent would send their kids there? Is it like a a punishment camp? Are these juvenile deliquents? Or is this a camp for people who have trouble sleeping? Is ambian a sponsor? Are all the campers required to wear headbands and socks up to their necks? Has anyone ever died at one of his camps? I have a lot of questions!

In all seriousness, my brother went a few years ago and it was a great camp.  A lot of local coaches came, and some former St. John's players.  My bro was coached by Reggie Jessie and loved it.

Norm is a great guy and I'm sure he runs a really nice summer camp for youths.  I just hope it's not at St. John's this summer.

Did your brother do somethig wrong? You are clearly your parent's favorite.
Did your brother all of a sudden start moving really slowly? Does he just start passing food around the dinner table for thirty seconds at a time?

I'll admit I'm laughing out loud right now.

The funny thing was, right after my Dad cooked three AWESOME burgers on the grill he told my Dad he had to sit the rest out, and put my 13 year old sister behind the fire...

LOL  If Norm can have a basketball camp, why can't I have seminar about how to f supermodels?  Neither one of us have a clue about the topic we are heading.

At least disgruntled fans are consistent here…

This is the third year in a row this thread has appeared on at least one of the boards, I found last year's on BEB.

And since you found last year's, you would also know that you astutely pointed out that the thread was INACCURATE.  Beast of the East said girls was up and boys wasn't, and you proved to him that was a lie.

It's not a lie this time.

… For the record, I'm not suggesting this necessarily means he's done, but I do think it means it hasn't been decided yet.  And perhaps, if it was delayed last year as well, it was for the same reason.

Tha Kid, maybe I should have made my observation a little clearer:
It seems that for the last few years some anti-Norm fans falsely get their hopes up based solely on the fact that the girls camp dates may be finalized and/or posted on the school site earlier than the boys camp. That was the point I was trying to make.

And since you took the time to go back to locate and read the entire thread you should have determined that it wasn’t delayed at all last year, it was posted at the time of Beast’s post. There was a broken link on the website that mistakenly brought you to the dates for the previous year’s camp. No conspiracy here.

Bottom line is that there are no smoke signals or rumors from “people in the know” that will tell us anything concrete. On any given day Father Harrington could wake up and decide that this is the end of Norm Robert’s tenure here. That day we will all find out, but until then it’s merely idle speculation.

Personally I think he’s coming back.

Well we all can't be as accepting of the p.o.s. the school tried to force on us as you are.
It's going to be a tough next couple of weeks for you, huh?
Mary Lack: I’m not sure exactly what Point Of Sale system you are interested in. Perhaps the same as is installed in the bookstore? I didn’t realize that you were in retail, but feel free to PM me and I will try to help you get the right system and set it up correctly.

Also, thanks for your concern as to my well being, but I think the worst is behind me now.
Have a pleasant evening.
