Remember guys that the right coach isn't trying to bring kids to a part of the country, he's trying to get them to stay home.

Omari,Ron Roberts and Davontay Grace, looks like it was starting to happen

Hey Kid,

Thats sounds a little like revisionist history...
Hill fell into Jarvis lap. And 4/20 yrs is not anything to get excited about. That's 20% of the time. Lets assume SJU makes NCAAs next yr under Norm 1/7. Thats 14% of the time.

And if he has been there 20yrs, who has he developed? Why hasn't VATech become an attractive destination?

I read somewhere that Pitino is the first choice, he would be someone worth bringing in. But Greenberg? I just assume let Norm finish out with this class.

I'm not on the Greenberg bangwagon either.  However, in all fairness,  Virginia Tech was a nobody on the college basketball landscape. Now they are a legit ACC top 5 team.  He did help build that program.

Anyway, its water under the bridge re: Norm. Lets move on.

Virginia Tech is still a nobody in college basketball. Theyre in the LOSER tournament right?

Like I said earlier, you want to talk about McCaffrey or Pitino okay legitimate candidates. But to replace Norm for Greenberg? Might as well let Norm finish out with this class. Then he has Omari, Ron Roberts, Grace and others to start building with.

Believe me, For those of you who think Greenberg is a water walker, I guarantee he'll still be available next year at VT if Norm and this group doesn't make it to the NCAAs

And we were a top 100 team this year with 7 juniors. Yay!  I don't even want Greenberg here.  Go bark up someone else's tree.  As long as Norm's gone i'm happy.

And our Strength of Schedule destroys theirs. Greenberg will get a home and home with Molloy College, first order of business

I love how you support a guy nobody wants (Norm).  Then pick a part every potential candidate everyone else likes.  You are certainly a contrarian my friend.  Whatever fires up the most people i guess.  As long as your happy, Keep it up .

call Donovan and then Fran.  If that doesn't work, we can discuss Greenberg.

Greenberg is not my top choice, but he's better than Norm. He's a better coach. Bottom line.  The part about Norm coming back and going to Ncaa next year isn't happening. He can fill in for Herm Edwards on  NFL live or something.

With the right coach, Donovan or Fran, i think being consistant top 25 team, top 5 Be team are fair expectaions.

He is at va tech people.  I'd say its prob easier to get the landesberg's, ebanks's, and jones' of the world in nyc than blacksburg.

Greenberg's FLOOR is what he did at va tech.  Can't see how hed do worse.  His ceiling we don't know, but it has to be higher w the juice of nyc and msg

Would any of you tell your sister or daughter to stay with a loser guy rather than switch to a very good guy unless they can switch to an excellent guy?

I would expect Greenberg to be a notch below those other 2.  Thats why he's not my choice. He's an improvement, but then again,  Dave would be an improvement over Norm. ( no offense dave, i just know you wish you could coach this team).
I'm not here to defend Greenberg btw. I don't care one way or the other.  I don't have strong feelings, like you,  about him. I don't know enough about him to defend or attack him.  I'll defer to your expertise in that area. :)

Hopefully, PMG's scoop is on the money, as many of us will be elated.  But, as far as Greenberg....  No!  I do not want Greenberg.  There are many other candidates out there that I can get excited about other than Greenberg.

I'm just not enamored with him.  Is he a better coach than Norm?  Of course!  But, a pork chop might be a better coach than Norm, so that ain't saying much.

The first call I'd make is to Florida's AD and Billy Donovan's agent.  Florida has already been eliminated, so we can jump on Billy "The Kid."  Then, I would move on to McCaffery and Steve Donahue (whenever their respective teams are eliminated), if we can't nab Donovan.  You can put out feelers to their respective agents before they are eliminiated.  I'd also put out feelers to Brian Gregory, as well.

Say no to Greenberg.
