Next St. John's coach faces critical period [SNY.tv]

There's a lot of good stuff in the article.

http://web.sny.tv/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100322&content_id=8869260&oid=2&vkey=21

Several influential AAU coaches in the New York area say the next St. John's coach has a golden opportunity to recruit a group of talented players to the Queens, N.Y. school in much the same way Michigan recruited the Fab Five....

Kimani Young, the head of the talent-rich New Heights AAU program, says the next St. John's coach should also assemble many of the talented underclassmen in the New York area and make a collective pitch.

That group includes Thomas Jefferson junior guard Davontay Grace (who verbally committed to St. John's), Rice junior wing Jermaine Sanders, Boys & Girls junior guard Mike Taylor, Seton Hall Prep junior guard Sterling Gibbs, Christ the King sophomore guard Omar Calhoun, St. Peter's Prep junior guard Myles Davis, Paterson Catholic junior guard Myles Mack and junior forward Derrick Randall and St. Raymond's sophomores Nkereuwem Okoro and Daniel Dingle.

"You tell them, 'Look, it's time that St. John's is good again,'" Young said. "'We've got some momentum. You're not coming into the bottom of the Big East. This team is realistically an NCAA tournament team next year. We have nine seniors on the roster and I think we're in position to be very successful and then it's going to be riding that momentum onto the next level.'

Huh?  ???

Kimani helped Jayvaughn with his decision to go to Villanova. Can anyone blame him? Kimani is a great guy lets not shoot him down for not sending a recruit here he doesn't owe us anything.

These kids want to play in the NBA, yet despite plenty of success on the college level, I can only think of one guy (Foye) that Jay Wright has sent to the NBA.

The other two guards got on rosters - Allen Ray and Kyle Lowry.  Ray was with the T'Wolves and Lowry with the Grizzlies at one point.  Also, didn't Daunte Cunningham get drafted?

These AAU coaches have said that Norm wasn't willing to bend the rules..what does that mean. These AAU coaches are all very shady and the fact that they are gonna have some input in the next coach is flat out wrong.
