Not a done deal yet

From a *very* good source, they are still talking, looks good, but no deal last night. More discussions today.

And yeah, if it does happen, order your LA plane tickets for next season.  ;)

Yea they need to finalize paperwork. He's coming to St. John's. Don't rain on our parade :)

Home and Home with UCLA? I've heard rumors of that since last season. Now it might happen.

If they can just make that game around New Year's, I will DEFINITELY be there (have to be in SD in early Jan).

Just the facts, m'aam, no agreement yet.

And yes, a home and home would definitely be looked into immediately, but of course, Howland would have to agree, and he has yet to schedule Pitt.

Regular season starts first week of Jan, in fact, it started on New Years Eve. The non-conferences are typically done by then.

UCLA 2009-2010 sched.

True, but remember WVa and Purdue played Jan 6th, Memphis, Gonzaga, and Duke have all squeezed in non-con games during their conference season as well.

And I can't really justify multiple west coast trips like that!  Everything should be for my convenience.  ;D

Does the Skinner dismissal change St. Johns thought process about Lavin? Or is it a done deal

I recall some of the Pac-10 coaches whining about non-cons during the regular season, so I think the conference mostly stopped it.

We wiped the floor with UCLA the year Ben Howland took over. Never understood how that happened. It seems like they've regressed under him.

What's going on over there?

There was a popular cop TV show before your time called 'Dragnet' in which the main character while interviewing witnesses would always say "just the facts m'aam" when they would go off on a tangent.
