He has a verbal to USC on scout.com but according to those over at redmen, he has opened his recruitment back up and has UNLV, Georgia, and St. John's on his top three. Kid could flat out jump. He reminds me of Michael Jordan in the final scene of space jam minus the ridiculous arm stretch.

I'd rather see a big man on the bench developing, but this guy - scholarship-wise - seems like a good idea. The team needs a couple of guys working out and getting stronger and ready to make an impact in 2011.  That's some athleticism there!

  The next Ryan Williams?      I kid,  this kid looks pretty amazing in those highlights.

The team needs a point guard, bor we can forget about the NCAAs next year.

Wow, a really good player from LA has interest in SJU. That is a very plesant change, Lavin is using those west coast connections. I know nothing about the kid but hes pretty highly rated on the recruiting sites. Lavin is showing us what a national recruiting presence can do.

1st, Dwayne was heavily recruited by Oregon, and therefore, by Mike Dunlap.

2nd, his dad, Dwayne Sr., played for Lavin-mentor Jim Harrick at Pepperdine ('84-87), and they remain close.

Dwayne's de-committment to SoCal (he verballed as a HS FRESHMAN), came after the coaching change due to the Tim Floyd pay-off scandal (OJ Mayo) - the entire staff was let go...including Dwayne Polee Sr. (DOBO)....

I'd pass. We need a PG or a 5, unless top 25-50 stud.

Any thoughts on the kids ability to play in the Big East?  Seems like a borderline top 100 with tremendous athletic abillity.  Can he shoot at all?  At 6'7" 180 he will need to be able to shoot from the outside.

It's most likely too late for us to get a significant impact PG for 2010. Time to look ahead to the future.

St. John's basketball coach Steve Lavin likes to say his first recruit was assistant coach Tony Chiles. Chiles, the former All Hallows and Columbia star, is one of Lavin's recruiting point men in the metropolitan area.

But sources told The Post that because of Lavin's California roots, the Red Storm is looking to recruit coast to coast.

Sources said Dwayne Polee Jr., who led Los Angeles power Westchester High to back-to-back state titles, will visit St. John's today.

I didn't look at the video- everyone looks like a stud on hilight video's.

Just looking at the rankings... Rivals & Scout both have him OUTSIDE of the top 100 !

Unless he blossomed the last 6 months & they have him pegged way wrong ?

It's always hard to tell how good a player is on a great high school team.
Sometimes they are the 3rd or 4th option, and it comes easier for them.

OK...just watched the videos & read the Maxpreps writeup.
What a vertical ! 
From everything we read the last 3 months on Ron Roberts they seem similar.

He's listed as 6'6"-6'7". From the video he seems like a small 4.

Just need a PG to get him the ball now.

The thought of a guy like this in a high octane running offense is real exciting.  He would have no pressure coming in next year where he can just work on his game and try to develop some skills for the next 3 years.

I've seen videos of HS kids dunking but never anything like that, his head was up near the rim a few times and he made it look effortless.
