Sad day in Jersey yo

Heard that the axe finally did its thing on Paterson Catholic. Lotta good young brothers and sisters now lookin fo a new home and a caring Catholic education.

Brings back real sad memries of Tolentine back in '91.

A lotta bball talent pass through those halls: Tim Thomas, Kev Freeman, Marquis Webb, Darryl Watkins and a lotta others.

Now the poachin' begins. All them others schools gonna go after Myles Mack, Kyle Anderson and the like. Just the way it is.

Shout out to Damon and Benjie who are now outta a job. Hopin they land on they feet. Bless.

A bit unfair to call it "poaching" though, there will be fights over some of the kids but they need new homes. Its is not like they have a choice at this point.

As a Tolentine grad and someone who's sister taught there until it closed, it couldn't have happened soon enough.
They were admitting real bad kids, real bad, and the faculty, saints that they were, couldn't wait for it to close.

Totally agree it might get ugly but its not likie Tiny Morton blatantly stealing kids who are students in good standing at their schools. The PC kids have to go somewhere and the public schools in and around PC are not exactly top notch. I think Mack's father has already said theat public school is not an option.

I have such amazing memories of seeing and playing against Tolentine.

It would be nice to see Mack head to a STJ-friendly school like South Kent or Bridgton.  Perhaps a commute to Rice after Hicks leaves.

Yo bre, I been to some of the craziest schools in NYC where I'm lookin over my shoulder 24/7, but I aint ever seen one scarier than Paterson Eastside. And that was back when they had that principal wit a bat and a bullhorn.
