mase was getting his points in a non offensive setting. and he was putting up numbers. this young man has a chance to do the same in a more structured setting. i think if the whole offense is changed and we push the ball he wont have the same impact as mase as far as the numbers but he could be a hella problem because of his jumping ability.

the comparison to mase jr is a good one, because they are both very undersized to play the 4. at 6'7 190 this kid is a bean polee. realistically he will compete with quincy for playing time behind dj.

See Hakim Warrick.  The kid was just as skinny and only 6'8, but was a terror in transition as a frosh (averaging 6.1 and 4.8 in 18 mpg) and was impossible to contain when he faced up his opponent from his soph year on.

if he blocks a baseline trey with 2 seconds left in a national championship victory ill be pretty happy.

All this from a highlight clip?

I think Marillac is talking about Warrick.  I understand , and agree where Baldi is going with this though.  I doubt that more than 2 or 3 guys on these boards has actually seen this kid play besides the great highlight video.  Let's not pretend we know anything about this kid.

I said earlier,  if he comes and has a career like Postell, i'd sign up for that right now.  The most encouraging aspect of the whole Polee saga is the fact that FINALLY we are able to make a  run, late in the game, at a kid like this.  Bodes well for future recruiting.

I talked to some kids who have played against him in the AAU circuit. Said he really couldn't shoot but he was a human highlight reel. He runs the floor well and is always attacking the rim with or without the ball.

Thanks Dave!  Sounds good.   I hope we land this kid.  More for the statement it would make than anything else.

Don't be an idiot, Baldi.  I was clearly writing about Warrick.

If he sits on the bench while we win a national championship, I'd be pretty happy.

i can't speak for mcnpa...but watch the videos and you'll probably agree.
I've seen him play in person several times. I respectfully don't believe he's like either player. Mason was more skilled at that age, but he wasn't in his league athletically. Jones was both less athletic and less skilled at a similar stage.

I'm friendly with several of these guys who put the various mixtapes together, but I certainly hope folks don't view it as any type of scouting video.

I was in Akron yesterday at the King James talking with one company about putting together four tapes, but my man didn't feel he could put together one video on one of the kids because he wasn't flashy enough (mind you this kid will be a McDonald's All-American next year). They'd be the first to acknowledge that the mixtapes are generally visual pablum for the masses.

Btw, Mo Hicks wasn't there at all this weekend.  :)
Omar Calhoun played really well against a top 25 rising senior in P.J. Hairston (UNC) of CP3.

Not sure why we're comparing Polee to Mase or assuming he'll take Mase's playing time.  First, the size of the rotation Norm Roberts used was a little too big.  On the other hand, there are few players on the roster who seem like (potentially) they should get 30+ minutes every night (I'd say Kennedy and Burrell if his head's in the game and he's making impact on both ends; maybe Boothe out of necessity).

Still, assuming Rob Thomas remains on the deep bench, I think any missing minutes that would have been Mase's should go to Omari Lawrence anyway (if he improves his shot).  I'm assuming any recruit who comes in will get spot duty/ foul-trouble-fill-in/ change-of-pace duty, especially if they are a 3/4 type of player.  Unless he beats out Sean Evans and Justin Brownlee for time.
