As far as we're concerned, it all starts with the play of Kyle Anderson. The 2012 prospect is tough to describe because he literally plays one through four for his team and he does it well. He can pass, is a cerebral scorer in the mid post, has toughness, is a leader and causes all kinds of problems for opponents. He's got Miami, Virginia Tech, LaSalle, Pittsburgh, St. John's, Xavier, Arizona and Virginia on him early and that list figures to get much longer before it shortens up.

Next year he moves to play for Bob Hurley @ St. Anthony, will only help him moving forward.

Thanks.  I couldn't find where he was headed so I left Paterson Catholic up there.

I hope things change within the next 6 months-to-a year, but no mention of the Johnnies.  Meh....

After taking an unofficial visit to St. John’s Thursday, St. Anthony junior Kyle Anderson, the No. 1 point guard in the Class of 2012, is now considering the Queens school.

“The visit went well,” Kyle Anderson Sr. said. “The whole staff gave a view of where the program is headed and the contributions Kyle could make. They talked about the talented players from the 2011 class that they were involved with and the timetable when St. John’s can be back in the upper echelon of the Big East.

“Kyle came away with a different view of St. John’s and its staff. If things hold true to what we discussed, St. John’s would be in the thick of Kyle’s recruitment.”

Is this kid really a 6-8 PG or did Zags have a typo?

It's not a typo, storm.  Anderson is definitely in the 6'7"/6'8" range.  I've seen him up close and personal at the Peach Jam.

The question is whether he switches to the wing at the next level.

Kyle Anderson behind basket with his mom, who said she wants him to stay local in the "Big East."

FWIW, I wouldn't put an enormous amount of weight into this necessarily.

Not saying it is true, but at least now if kids want to stay home, we can feel confident in getting them.
