I understand that im losing all credability here but since I dont know this kid im only reporting what I hear from people I trust.. Just spoke with a guy at Brewster who SWEARS that Jakarr has not only not eliminated SJU but they are right near the top. The kids on the roster are all over him to come and join in and that is really working on him. He says Fla not really an option, the wow factor of KU is wearing off but Prov is literally ALL OVER him. His guess was a 2 way tie between SJU and Prov with KU close behind and all else out of the picture. Guy also mentioned Norvel is having Issues(not physical health) so as decent people perhaps we could lay off the insults on him and keep him in our prayers

No worries '79.  Your not losing credibility.  This stuff changes so frequently its impossible to keep up with.  But your latest report jives with what I've been and some others in the know have been hearing as well.

Ditto

Attack basketball, pressure defense, 40 minutes of hell ... Early on it might be 30 minutes of hell, then 10 minutes of what the hell are you doing?"

nothing now missed read it on my girls tablet at work, I thought crgreen said he sign with KU my heart skipped a beat. This is why I love sports for the anticipation but at times can be nerve racking . Does anyone know if Jakarr signing depends on if Harkless is leaving or staying. I guess both could be looked at as negatives and positives for him

I don't think Harkless leaving could be a positive for anyone. Even him.

Would love to see Sampson out on that court with Harkless and Harrison on a nightly basis.  Having three legitimate scoring threats on the floor would be dangerous for the rest of the Big East.  And with continued improvement from Garrett, Pointer, and Greene, we would be a tough team to face.

Jakarr isn't really a "scorer" he's like Dom/Amir in terms of offensive prowess.

Karr.  Rejoin your buddies and Lavs. A lineup of Branch,Harrison,Amir/Dom,Harkless,and Sampson would be very formidable. You will be a king and get to go to school in the greatest city in the world, a great experience.

I agree when he first commited , he was more of a slasher / defender..  He looks like he has really developed a mid range jumper this year.. The last 2 games he was knocking them down with ease.  Maybe he can be that main scoring option in college ??

I agree.  You guys have probably seen him a lot more, I've only seen him on tv this year, but he looked better than I expected with the ball in his hands.  I had heard that slasher label used for him, and I thought he was more than that.

Don't know if he can be a main scoring option, but we certainly could use the help.  I think we overlook how much this team struggled on offense this year.  Truth is, even with being outsized we actually competed on the boards most nights, weren't terribly turnover prone, and for the most part played good defense.

Very broadly speaking; we need to put the ball in the bucket on a more consistent basis next year.   I'm hoping Branch, and a year under the guys' belts aids that.

Still a bit raw in half court offensive sets but would be the most athletic player on the team. Plays phenomenal defense during the press and is extremely dangerous on the break. His offensive game is improving but still needs some work, isn't a threat from the perimeter at this stage. Really fits our system perfectly and would be a big piece from day 1 but not someone who I think would put up 15 a game as freshman IMO.

Well I believe number fourteen is still available. Seems Jakarr wears that number wherever he plays. As a matter of fact according to the Rivals Yahoo St. John's roster for this past year they already have Jakarr listed as # 14 for St. John's.  Also shows Pelle with number five. See below:

I think he is better than either...certainly much better offensively that Dom.  I think he's right up there with Moe to be honest, probably just step below.  I also think he'll shoot the ball from deep better than anyone we saw on our squad this year not named D'Angelo.  I like the way Garrett can score off the bounce, but not only can Sampson get his off the bounce, he can score inside on a consistent basis.

Not that you are saying or thinking this, Dave, but anyone that thinks Sampson doesn't walk in and average double-digits is being silly IMO.  This is a future NBA first rounder.

is that a good or bad thing Dave?   Dom is offensively Challenged.  Amir has potential and think he'll avg 10-12 nxt season.  but on a team offensively challenged will we have too many similar players?
