MJ...Did you see him play in person?
I watched him play in VA in April and Los Angeles in late May.
He plays in the same backcourt as St. John's recruit Nick Johnson and arguably has had a better AAU season thus far.
At a program like St. John's, he'd be an immediate starter as a freshman. If need be, Coach Lavin could also move him over to the three position (which he plays at times for the Soldiers) against certain opponents, but he has prototypical size for a two.
I had a feeling he was having a better AAU season than Johnson (as, I knew both were on the same AAU team). That isn't saying Johnson (as, I hear he's having a solid AAU season) is not having a good AAU season. It's just saying, Brown is having a terrific AAU season.
I think Brown would be an immediate starter wherever he decides to attend college. If, not a starter then definitely the 6th man.
I agree with you that Brown probably would be able to play the two and three in college. As, you mentioned.... He's a prototypical two. He also seems to have a solid build; looks fairly athletic; and is an adept ballhandler. It seems his specialty is ringing the bell from downtown.
I'm looking forward to watching Johnson and Brown play in a couple of weeks.
