I know one guy, who, despite his nickname, normally makes his money off of horses, etc. that made slightly over six figures on Duke in April off of a 15/1 wager last August. Two days later, he found out that his wife had terminal cancer.

For certain reasons, ahem, they had everything in the lady's name. He only dealt in cash. When this broke, he suddenly got married. Due to her being hospitalized in NJ (where she was working), they had wait 72 hours and the doctor wasn't sure if she'd make it, due to the late nature of the prognosis. She's managed to live day-to-day for over two months. He panicked and had her sign over all sorts of things immediately so that her sister wouldn't get it.
