Quote from: Poison on July 06, 2010, 11:43:13 PMwhy would he bother stealing such something with such little value?Shoplifting is clearly a psychological issue for many people. Shoplifting for most individuals is rarely about greed or poverty. It’s about people struggling with their own personal conflicts and needs. The single largest psychological factor found in approximately 1/3 of shoplifters studied is “depressionâ€. This helps to explain why so many individuals steal from stores on their birthday and/or around holiday times.[...]For some, it's a "substitute for loss" because they perceived they were unfairly deprived in some way (i.e., a divorce, a serious illness, death of a loved one, loss of income from a job or investments, or an unexpected expense which can cause people to feel needy). http://www.shopliftingprevention.org/whatnaspoffers/nrc/psychologicalstudies.htm

I understand why people shoplift. Okay, sorry. I thought when you said "why would he bother stealing something with such little value?" I thought you were asking why he would bother stealing something of such little value. The answer to which would be that he's a narcissist and a meglomaniac who's psychologically conflicted due to his recent career implosion and that the value of the item is immaterial. Whereas when you said "why would he bother stealing something with such little value" saying you were saying that you'd believe he's steal a $2500 purse but not a $1500 purse, because you know that the object of the theft doesn't matter. Or something. Eye roll thingie.QuoteAnd again, I stand by what I said. I don't think he did it.Yes, well certainly there's nothing in his background tha t would suggest that he's troubled psychologically or would act out. Probably he's being framed. I'd check and see if Mark Furhman was in the mall.
