However, basketball has not given up on him, yet. As he is expected to graduate from Junior College in the summer of 2011, Lindsey has become a hot topic in the world of recruiting. “St. John’s, Oklahoma, Miami (FL), Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State, LSU and UCLA” are all recruiting him and have extended scholarships his way.
As most believed he had committed, the guard has a different story. “I never commited to La Salle,” said Lindsey. “That was a misunderstanding. It was something my AAU coach promoted. I never had intentions of going to La Salle.” After everyone thought he was bound for La Salle, Lindsey disappeared from the game. “I wound up out here in Oklahoma after I thought I would never play basketball again due to the impact of losing my best friend and little brother within two months.”
As he is back to playing basketball, Nurideen is a big part of the New York tabloids recently. Most reporters say they have sources who tell them Nurideen Lindsey will become the third member of the 2011 St. John’s class. “I don’t plan on committing anywhere anytime soon, but I have planned on making a trip out there to St. John’s for a visit,” Lindsey said. While he has planned out some visits yet, he does not have any specific dates or information on them.
