Here's another kid we need to be all over.  Plenty of room in the frontcourt even if Pelle/Sampson make it here.

Unfortunately, I hope the staff didnt put too many apples in KA's basket. Their focus on him and their belief that Sampson would be here may have led them to forget about Amile..........  its tough to jump back into a situation where there are so many other schools involved at this point.
True.  But I will never, ever count out Coach and the staff.  But now, MD has a big need for the 3/4 player Amile will be, and Coach Turgeon and his staff are proving early on to be getting excellent returns on the recruiting trail.

I don't think the ship has sailed.

Did we have any connection to him other than KA?

Nuri knows him from Philly.

Article today on zagsblog doesn't list StJ in the running.

I've long thought we were no longer in the running for Jefferson.  Maybe, the staff backed off due to believing they were gonna land Kyle Anderson.

I feel like after failing to land KA no one else is really considering here...

I love his game. He just knows how to score
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

More like we are late to the dance party because we were waiting on Kyle.

I think what real fan is saying is the staff should know if a kid will commit before they start recruiting him.  This way they
Don't waste any time recruiting someone that eventually commits somewhere else.
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

You never know what he's trying to say.  I guess he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt, per se'.  LOL

Nevertheless, the staff felt they were in excellent shape with Anderson until the final week of his recruitment.  Trust me!  Lavin and the staff aren't gonna waste too much time on someone they feel they do not have a chance of landing.

I don't care how good this kid is. We need size. I don't want to read about a player who doesn't play the 4 or the 5 for the rest of the season. We don't need a Swingman to fetch Harkless and Pointer water when they're thirsty. That's what walk ons are for.

I pretty much have to agree.  We have Harkless, Pointer and will have Garrett, 3 top 60 SF's.  We need a 4/5 type. God's Gift is a junior and we're still crossing our fingers on Pelle.  Need a guy that can play 4/5 as GG will be a senior next year.  I wouldn't mind going the JC route again for a big guy if need be.

I don't know what the staff did or did not do. Recruiting philosophy wise it is my opinion that it is better not to put all of your eggs in one basket. We should be recruiting numerous high level prospects and if they are rated fairly close in our opinion we should accept the first player willing to commit. In this instance we should be recruiting AJ at the same time as KA so if we lose one we are still involved with the other. If AJ would have committed prior to KA making a decision we than have the choice to continue to recruit KA or maybe we don 't have room but at least we are not left holding the bag and being left out in the cold. This is how major programs recruit and football is recruited. If there is a Magic, Bird or Michael of course you save a schoolie but I don't think KA fits into that class IMHO.

BTW agree we need size. Prior post was just in regard to recruiting philosophy.

It would really help us with Gathers if Amile picked Kentucky
