Anyone know what kind of conditioning he's been doing?

That's actually what I was concerned about. Maybe it's because I held in a gut a few times in my life, I can spot another guy doing it.

I hope I'm wrong, but look at Evans, and then look at Thomas.

This kid has not been in what anyone would truly call GOOD SHAPE since high school. his conditioning has been a five year struggle.

While he is a great kid and an even better story, he is a non-factor on this team. Any minutes he might have had a chance at getting will go to Polee.

I like Thomas, he always seems to be in the right place. Is his knee the reason he is never in shape?

You can lose weight w out working out 4 hours a day. Especially if you're under 25.

Thomas obviously eats a lot of garbage.

I think a lot of the weight was put on after his surgery and he never really lost it.  I don't know anything about his eating habits but rob does have a great nose for the ball and hopefully he is ready to play this year

Making comments about his eating habits that you know nothing about?  Really?

Anyway also remember the uniforms are a new cut so they are tighter which might lead you to think he's sucking in his stomach.  Either way these new uni's aren't made for big men.  Pick any school's big men with these new uni's and they will look slightly out of shape.  Onawaku and Jackson in Cuse come immediately to mind.

Moose, look at the picture again.
The guy needs to lose weight.

I don't need to know his eating habits to do simple math.

He's either not working out or he's eating garbage.

Tell me, what else could be the cause of his weight problem?

Oh I don't know.  The fact that his knee injury might prevent him from fully working out?

Moose, I don't think his knee injury is forcing him to eat at KFC, but I could be wrong.

Its just pretty pathetic in my mind to start talking about someone's eating habits.  I'm fairly new to the board but I haven't gathered you as someone who hangs out with the team who might be giving us all an inside look at things.

The pure fact that a players physique is being scrutinized in September off of a bunch of pictures is also pathetic in my mind.

To each their own I guess.  I just wouldn't go around saying Rob Thomas is out of shape because he eats fast food all day.  But maybe I'm wrong and you've seen him on line at KFC three times a week?

You're right about one thing Moose: I
don't hang out with the team.

Perhaps you need to chill out?

I really like Rob Thomas as a player and I am  sure he is a good guy. But he is on a D1 scholarship, his physique shouldn't have to be questioned or scruntinized. He is expected to be in excellent shape! Crazy to think he hasn't been the last few years.

I need to chill out because I'm questioning why your irresponsibly posting things about a player?  I didn't realize that when you question someone on this board the response I receive is to chill out.  I've done nothing but questioned what you said in a civil tone.  You want fireworks?  I'll bring them next time.

Ok girls....

Thomas put on weight when he couldn't do cardiovascular exercise due to him not being able to walk because of injury.

I fail to see this as an issue now if he is fully healthy. I think basing "opinions" of Thomas' diet and work ethic off a team photograph is pretty harsh and exaggerated.

Poison and Moose if you want to continue your debate with each other remember to focus on the points raised not on each other. Be ready to support your opinions with facts (if not chances are you are going to be called out by others).

Also on a completely different note I'd like to see Thomas keep some weight on because he is going to have to play down low if he's playing at all on this team. A skinny Thomas isn't going to be effective boxing out and getting put backs. He's going to have to toss his body around to gain contact and finish.

Dave, sorry, for the trouble, but in no way is it out of line to say that Rob Thomas could lose weight without working out, because he can.

That's not my opinion.

Yeah, the weight comment's iffy. We don't know what his regimen is or what his weight's supposed to be to play on the team - he might NEED weight to bang (as Dave mentioned).
