This a question not a knock on Mase, He may have a hard time making NBA. Why not go to Europe and get paid big money? D- league dosn't pay all that much. Another question: Out of our 10 seniors how many wil be getting checks playing ball next year? Geno and Phil M. are getting paid to play ball next year.

Because assuming the Heat have any more injuries he gets the call up first and foremost. If he's under contract in Europe he doesn't get that opportunity.

Is he still under contract with the Heat?

I'm not certain but I think so. He wasn't in the NBADL draft he was automatically assigned to the Heat affiliate team.

As soon as Miami realizes that Lebron is overrated, Mase will be called up. : )

I like Sean Marshall from BC he tore us up when they were in the Big East. That team was nasty with Craig Smith and Jared Dudley. Marshall has had a nice career oversees too.

I'm not sure what seems to me like mocking Mase's teammates accomplishes or proves.

Dave - your assertion re his call up is ridiculous.  Haslem DID get hurt, no call up.  They signed stackhouse when they needed to fill a spot earlier, now they signed dampier.

This team is not calling up mase unless james jones specifically gets hurt probably, and even then who knows, unless mase shows he deserves to make it.

Mase never signed a contract w the heat to our knowledge, either, right?

He should go to europe, make a living and see the world, but I understand him giving it at least a year or two in the nbdl to see if he can make the nba as its prob his life long dream.

Actually, Mase should do whatever he wants to do.  Glad he's playing well so far.  I hope he does get the call up because that means the Heat have some injury issues.

You just mentioned two players who play different positions than Mason. This is like saying the Yankees have a stud SS when the LF and C go down he doesn't get called up.

Players who have aspirations of playing pro ball in the NBA go a different path then guys who are just content with making a living overseas.

There are so many different leagues overseas and if you want to play in the NBA you're going to have to go through Euroleague. Mason wouldn't get PT there especially being an American and young (no insult to him even Brandon Jennings didn't get time in a lesser league). So he could possibly sit there or he plays in another league but then is held up by contracts if he wants to come back to the states.

The NBA DL offers easy exposure to NBA teams with easy accessibility. Why do you think Scottie Reynolds, Patrick Ewing Jr., and a lot of other american born players are playing the D-League now? They could easily cash in overseas too but they are chasing a dream.

Ewing Jr can afford to chase the dream. He's a different case. That's a trust fund baby.

He only made 45 million in the NBA. That's like what, 30 million after taxes. Can't expect Jr to scrape by on that.
