You just mentioned two players who play different positions than Mason. This is like saying the Yankees have a stud SS when the LF and C go down he doesn't get called up.

Players who have aspirations of playing pro ball in the NBA go a different path then guys who are just content with making a living overseas.

There are so many different leagues overseas and if you want to play in the NBA you're going to have to go through Euroleague. Mason wouldn't get PT there especially being an American and young (no insult to him even Brandon Jennings didn't get time in a lesser league). So he could possibly sit there or he plays in another league but then is held up by contracts if he wants to come back to the states.

The NBA DL offers easy exposure to NBA teams with easy accessibility. Why do you think Scottie Reynolds, Patrick Ewing Jr., and a lot of other american born players are playing the D-League now? They could easily cash in overseas too but they are chasing a dream.

You were not specific.  In fact, if Jerry Stackhouse doesn't play his position either, then Mase is only coming in for James Jones....or if LeBron gets so hurt he gets put on injured list.

Mase is a long shot to make the NBA anytime soon.  Best of luck to him - I hope he gets smart and gets paid soon.

All I've said and maintained is he's playing the NBA-DL in the hopes to get called up to play in the NBA. Why are you even arguing this point?

The focal point of this thread should be how well Mason Jr. is doing early on in his season. For Christ sake lets be happy for him.

Are you denying saying he makes it at next injury?  That could be this week. 

I am glad he is playing so well, and wish him all the best, but i dont believe hes one injury away.  Hes a month of solid play like this, plus a very specific injury away.  Hopefully it happens dor him this year, but it is not as soon as you implied....and you did imply he was very close.

Mason has 3 double doubles so far this season. His rebounding average is steadily improving each game. Still shooting over 50%

8.4 boards per game is great.  Mase however has not hit a three all year - and only seems to take about one per game. If he is not used as a shooter, he's gonna have to work his way into a defensive stopper to get that call up.

In other news I scored 24 in my 35 and older YMCA league game  67-64win over Mike's bar and grill. We are currently in 1st. I think the winner of my league plays the D league champs.

Just turned 38. Pretty much play 3 point line to 3 point line now a days. Actually we play the Norm offense pass the ball around the perimeter for 30 seconds than I shoot 3's.

That is a good comparison. Thanks to being the player coach, I am better coached than Larry and Mase were.
