so wagner is 2-2 with
63-58 win against lafayette
57-73 loss to bethleham
58-54 win to stonybrook
63-67 loss to hofstra

so loosing to them would look terrible,... if we want ncaa we need a win right?

I think we have to win all the games leading up to WV to have a realistic shot at the NCAA's.
Wagner was terrible last year and now has a crybaby coach and asst coach. I liked the last coach better he looked exactly like the Eagle form the Muppets and could polish off the vino. The Wagner campus is very pretty, so they have that going for them. Too bad game was not scheduled there.

Ahhh...I can't go.  I'll be there for the big Bonnie rematch, however.

Killing them would be un-Christian, and moreover, illegal.

Let me rephrase then.
I hope we beat them by a lot.

And I hope we kill Uconn.

Should be a 30 point win.

should be a double digit victory, no question.

...that's one way to do it. Or 20 wins and .500 or better in league play.  Tough with no patsies on the schedule like Bryant though...... oops, sorry, too soon?

I'm still trying to figure out what enjoyment you get being a moderator on a STJ board when its obvious North Avenue is where your passion lies.

I don't think so.  If we head into league play at 9-1, we'll have an outstanding RPI.  If we beat UCLA on the road--which I think we can do after watching them and seeing how awful its guard play is--our RPI will be even better.  Our RPI will be such that 9-9 and a win in the BET will do it in that case--possibly even 8-10 with two BET wins.

There are a few keys for a 9-9 season to get us in:

(1) HAVE to beat Northwestern (and for that matter Davidson)
(2) Probably have to beat UCLA on the road
(3) Need to win at least one in the BET (I really think we can grab 2)
(4) Don't get killed by Duke

19 wins will be the magical # with this team to get us on the bubble, 20 gets us in.  We are in position to have a top 40 RPI with 20 wins.  We play a VERY tough schedule and people have been taking notice.  #1 Duke, @UCLA, @St. Mary's (and then 30 hours later in NY against Columbia), and fly back to Alaska a week later for three games.  Then throw in an 18 game Big East schedule.

Baldi, at this point, SJU doesn't have to make up for embarrassing early season losses to terrible teams.

Iona clearly does.

The Johnnies are hot. Let's see Iona string a few together against anyone before we start talking about them in March.

The Bryant loss is brutal, but the Richmond win is most impressive. Richmond should be in the top 25 by the end of the week. The other 2 losses are to Kent St who is 6-1(the only loss coming from Cleveland St) and Cleveland St who is 8-0. Gaels get Norfolk St tonight, should be a W.

As for St Johns, the best win thus far is a bum ass Arizona St team.

  Iona lost 3 games already.

No need to come on here and consistently try and tweak the fanbase with your little childish barbs and jabs.  Bottom line is the ST. John's prgram is on the rise, and a sharp one at that.  Jump on for the ride,  you might enjoy yourself.

Baldi, we can't be held accountable for the other team's performance.

We might not have played a perfect tournament, but taking out a
Pac 10 contender is something to be proud of. No matter how poor we played.

Iona played great against Kent State, until the very end where they threw the game away.
The Johnnies have played much better thus far. That much you have to agree with.

Thank God for Brownlee. I dont think we can gauge how good or bad this team is until BIg East play. Cmon the Pac 10 blows. The 1 good team St Johns played, St MArys, was a loss.
