Why are we talking about Iona at all, who cares about them. We haven't played great but our last two games have been our best which is a good sign moving forward. We need to win all these games before Big East play because they aren't all that tough. Let's get back to St. John's and the game tomorrow against Wagner.

  Iona lost 3 games already.

No need to come on here and consistently try and tweak the fanbase with your little childish barbs and jabs.  Bottom line is the ST. John's prgram is on the rise, and a sharp one at that.  Jump on for the ride,  you might enjoy yourself.

Where has this comment been the last 3 years?

huh,  we sucked the last 3 years.  why would i comment on the program being on the rise?  As for your act,  it's the same whether the team is good or bad.  Which is clear indication of what purpose you actually serve here.

Woa, easy on Baldi. He's not wrong about us being irrelevant. The thing is, we were irrelevant, but that's in the past.

Now, we are playing much better.

But sorry Baldi, Iona is tied at 41 against the Mighty Spartans.

Baldi, if Arizona State blows, that's TFB for them. We won the tournament, and that was our task. Iona played in a tournament, and it wasn't like theirs was loaded with NCAA tourney teams—yet they finished winless.

Both teams are a work in progress, but SJU is deeper, and developing faster.

Iona beat Norfolk State by 9 last night. Not a good sign for the near future.

Baldi taking a negative stance when 95% of the fan base is now positive is about as surprising as seeing the entire female student body of Iona at Mcdonald's eating a Big Mac fries and super sized coke.

Baldi, we can't be held accountable for the other team's performance.

We might not have played a perfect tournament, but taking out the defending
Pac 10 Champ is something to be proud of. No matter how poor we played.

Iona played great against Kent State, until the very end where they threw the game away.
The Johnnies have played much better thus far. That much you have to agree with.

Thank God for Brownlee. I dont think we can gauge how good or bad this team is until BIg East play. Cmon the Pac 10 blows. The 1 good team St Johns played, St MArys, was a loss.

It is so unbelievably obvious that Iona is your #1 team, and St John's is a distant #2 based on your constant criticism of st johns, and unbridled optimism with Iona.

Stop being so negative all the time.  You may find out you enjoy life more if you allow yourself to root for the better of your two teams...

Do you follow the women's team at all Marco?  I know the head coach pretty well.

Back on topic... Wagner tonight.

I'll predict 75-56 SJU.
Wagner playing better than Columbia right now & Columbia played us hard for 20 min.
Wagner beat Bucknell & Stony Brook- games they would have
lost last year, and played Hofstra tough on Hofstra's court.

Hope we are up enough early so Quincy, Evans & Dele can get good minutes in 2nd half.
Those who were at scrimmage saw improvement in Quincy.
But he hasnt had the chance yet

Who are you to judge? Fans like yourself have done nothing but badmouth this program from top to bottom for years. Even wishing bad things on a priest, so you can get off the soap box anytime. All I said was that St Johns hasnt beaten a good team yet. I never brought up IONA in this thread, other posters seemed fit to do so.

Maybe you should go after posters who believe that beating Northwestern and UCLA gets St Johns an automatic bid. Thats some funny shat right there

Some big boys on Wagner. My prediction, SJU 73-62. Best player on the court, sitting on Wagners bench.

What in the world are you talking about?  When have I ever wished anything bad on a priest in my entire life?  When have I ripped the PLAYERS on this team?  I gave Norm 3 years of chances and then reasonably turned.  Lavin has proved in half a year how smart a decision it was to get rid of Norm.

Lavin is a great hire, why do you think I think otherwise? Lavin himself said this team wont make much noise until 2013,, until then you can watch the team that boo posted about in this thread playing meaningful games in March.  Take your meds, life shouldnt be so complicated
