If we have 2 ships left I say we go Pure PG & C with girth & post moves this is the Big East!
Harrison & Lindsey are having multiple 40 point games this season so I am worried about forcing them to do something that doesn't come natural. I don't see them as a Pure PG,& judging by their scoring averages neither do they.
I heard Dom can also play PG, But I don't want someone to play significant PG minutes "who can play also play PG",spot minutes is cool. But i don't like PG by committee I want a PG who is a Natural Born PG.
So I was thinking about a tough New York City sleeper who has big game experience at both MSG & Carnesecca 5-7 PG Antonie Slaughter from Boys n Girls High.I think he is a combination between Boothe and Walker. Not quite the tenacious defender Boothe is ,& not quite the shooter Walker is but gives a touch of both. But one thing is for sure he is a leader.Which can be Key with all the talent SJU has coming in he might be the right piece to the puzzle. He already has experience leading a team with 3-5 D1 players. At worst he will be a great back up PG for Jevon & adds a player who can stretch the D late in the game. Slaughter is Averaged 15 PPG & 9 APG for the PSAL champions last year. And after only two games this year he is averaging 10 & 10. East Coast Tyus Edney : )
As far as Center goes it does not look like any of our recruits coming in have a post game to speak of. Which can be an issue, just look at our team now. I never seen Chandler play in person but he looks like he has some post moves & fight for post position downlow which can be great for spacing & a diverse attack
It seems to me you are comparing Lindsey's and Harrison's point guard skills to Pointer's (I heard Dom can also play PG, But I don't want someone to play significant PG minutes "who can play also play PG",spot minutes is cool. But i don't like PG by committee I want a PG who is a Natural Born PG.), considering your quote. So, you're basically stating Lindsey and Harrison "would just be playing PG," right? Not necessarily point guards, correct?
I know folk are prone to mistakes, but I'd trust the staff on this one. How do you know Lindsey and Harrison would play PG by committee? Granted, I've heard Harrison really isn't a point guard.... I haven't heard the same about Lindsey. You obviously haven't seen the assist numbers Lindsey has been posting. Lindsey is probably averaging close to 7 assists per game.
Lindsey sounds like one of those guys who can get himself and his teammates involved. I haven't seen the Slaughter kid play, but why bring him in when we'll have Lindsey, Harrison, and Stith (then Thomas the following year)? Maybe, he is one of those big time sleepers. But, there is a chance he may have problems getting on the floor in that scenario. Unless, you suggest he beats out Stith or Thomas the following year.
I guess to each, his or her own. I'll take my chances going into next season with Lindsey, Harrison and Stith. We may be able to garner a commitment from (combo guard) Phil Greene in the spring. Who has also been putting up good numbers at IMG, this season.
I'm interested to see who we're going to be involved with in the next few months.
