I would find it dangerous going to Lincoln especially with Nathans being so close.  :D

Unless you move.  There is also one transfer allowed from private to public.

From ESPN Insider

At least six schools are still in the race for Isaiah Whitehead (Brooklyn, NY/Lincoln), ESPN's No. 41 recruit in 2014.

"Louisville has come out, Syracuse has come out, Arizona said they would be out here soon," Lincoln assistant coach James Barrett tells Scout.com today. "Those are some of the major schools that are really interested. Then you have Maryland, St. John's, and UCLA as well."

Regarded as a two-guard, the 6-foot-4 Whitehead is said to be working on his point guard skills this season, according to Barrett.

Here's more from ESPN Recruiting on the coveted guard.

Lot more dangerous high schools and nabes than Lincoln. Just sayin....

That doesn't mean its safe to go to Lincoln

Ever spent any time in the Marlboro projects - safe is not the word I would use to describe the place..

"On a different note, his recruitment is winding down. As he hopes to cut his list to five schools by next month, Whitehead says that Syracuse, UCLA and Louisville are standing out at this point, while Rutgers and St. John's haven't been in constant contact as before."

I thought Whitehead was a lock for Syracuse

Has that changed?

He was never a lock for them.  Just said they were recruiting him the hardest.

I hope we land him, I really want to see some metro area guys on the roster (like the Barkley, Artest days).

Yes we need all NYC players since NYC is still sooooo powerful in HS hoops.

it wouldn't hurt to represent the city a little more

This debate pops up every so often.  Who from NY you want on the team this year?  I don't want city kids for shits and giggles.  Give me the best NYC player every year.  Harkless, Lawrence, etc....

But then you have to realize a kid might not want to go to school in NY and might want to get away.

The last thing we need is another one and done
Look at teams like Missouri , gonzaga, butler
Mid majors with big time success!
I mean even VCU made the final 4 a minute ago !
The blueprint is out there! This isn't the 80's or 90's
NYC kids would be nice but the allure of leaving to start
Your legacy to a prep school or HS player is a 1up most out of town coaches have when they raid the city
For some of it's best players that might not have all the big reps.
Basically we need players with big game and not big name.
Just my opinion

I agree with a lot of what you wrote.  Just Missouri isn't mid major

Omar Calhoun and Kamari Murphy.

And I can´t believe that there are no NYC players with the roles of Bourgault or Hooper Or Jones.

Omar Calhoun never wanted to come here. He saw Harrison Greene and even Nuri last year and popped and signed before our defections.

NYC could have def helped more than Greene, Dom  at this point. Melvin Johnson would have been nice right about now.

Yeah - he's killing it at VCU this year - http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/62611/melvin-johnson

Sarcasm? Over look the numbers and look at the depth, ability to score shoot, create his own shot and lineup situation. We wouldn't be weaving for 25 seconds with him on the court guaranteed. That's like saying Phil Greene has been phenomenal as a point guard because of his assist to turnover ratio, which is barely the case.
