This was disappointing but with what info has come to light about Tiny it probably was for the best. This team should be okay for the next two years. Lavin will have to really get to work for 2015 and 2016. He will be judged on the next two years and if successful will have to continue to build on it for the future.

This post is absolutely the funniest thing I've come across all day long...now I feel compelled to go over to the rm.com website and see what's been happening.  I hadn't checked over there yet.  But bat-sh*t crazy is probably a great way to describe it, without me even reading a single thing on that site.  Thanks!

Second that, ruins a good thing IMO.

sight unseen, he could have been our kemba walker who took a mediocre connecticut team to a national championship on his back.  we don't have a player who can do that.

it's nice to say we don't need him, but we did.

i wish him the best of luck.  as far as morton, if he took a seton hall job on the back of one of his high school players than he's almost like a slimy child molester taking advantage of someone who trusted him.

Tiny is a disgrace, as evidenced by those quotes about seeking a SJU job. Impractical too IMO.

Actually, I really hope Lavin still is keeping an eye out for 2014.  Sanchez and God's Gift are gone at the end of the year.

If another one of our core guys leaves (i.e. Harrison, Jordan, Sampson, or Obekpa), St. John's is not looking too hot in 2014-'15.  In my opinion, he needs to bring in at least one difference maker to keep the talent level high.

Gotta give PMG credit. He has been on this Tiny thing for a long time

I wonder if Tiny will be using the N-word on the bench at Seton Hall like he does with Lincoln/his AAU team...

If Whitehead really believes that he wasn't considered to be the face the program, and that's why he chose Seton Hall then fine, he's classic Lincoln. Hey, it could work. I don't believe it will. I see a reincarnation of "El Savior", and no, I don't think the Hall makes the NIT next year.

Maybe we are better off in the long run because this should be the end of Morton.

does he really do that?

I don't really know much about Tiny, but looking at the pic they used on the latest zags article, he didn't exactly look "professional".

Actually dissapointed that this didn't go down for SJU, would have been a worthy read having PMG slay both Lavin and Tiny!!!  Since it happened with SHU, crickets.

You haven't even seen Rysheed Jordan play a game for STJ yet, i don't know how you can say he is or isn't that guy. I'm not saying that he is, but as it stands currently, he was higher ranked than Whitehead was, he just wasn't a McDz because he pretty much blew up the rankings during the middle/end of his senior year and didn't make a ton of noise the summer before.

“@AdamZagoria: Column: With Whitehead to Seton Hall, Is Tiny Morton Next? http://zagsblog.com/articles/with-whitehead-to-seton-hall-is-tiny-morton-next/

"It remains to be seen whether Willard will hire Morton — the fiery, longtime Lincoln coach who has sent Stephon Marbury, Sebastian Telfair and Lance Stephenson to the NBA. Morton stopped short of saying there was a position awaiting him at Seton Hall, but he certainly wasn’t hiding his desire to join a college staff."

Didn't Bobby Hartstein send Marbury to college?
