What a game and an even better win. Hardy is really, really good.

Great game...great effort...great coaching.  I wrote this team off after the Fordham game...maybe I should write them off again :)

4 Friggin Turnovers the whole game.  We usually had that by the first TV timeout.  Really proud of these guys for bouncing back after those 2 tough losses.  Nothing better than beating Georgetown.

Oh and what's up with Brownlee and that passing ability?  He had some great passes tonight.

Hardy and Brownlee have been the difference in my mind. The way they get to the basket and get easy baskets helps the offense so much. Also the coaching staff has to get a ton of credit, our shot selection is so much better and we are playing so much smarter basketball. We are taking care of the ball, taking much better shots, forcing turnovers, and hitting our free throws so much better.

A quick take on St. John's win over No. 13 Georgetown on Monday night at Madison Square Garden.

WHAT IT MEANS: St. John's wins its fifth in a row, and moves to 10-3 on the season. More importantly, the Red Storm knock off a nationally-ranked team for the first time after 14 consecutive losses, and go to 3-0 in the Big East. Georgetown falls to 12-3, and 1-2 in the Big East.

RUN OF PLAY: After trailing 21-15 with 8:38 remaining in the first half, the Red Storm ripped off on a 17-2 run, and led 32-26 at intermission. The second half was a back-and-forth affair -- in the final few minutes, each team took turns leading by one. The winning points came on a Justin Brownlee put-back of a Dwight Hardy miss -- Hardy added two free throws for the final margin.

Unbelievable.  Dwight Hardy is absolutely BALLIN' and this zone looks fantastic.  The team is oozing with confidence just when we need to.

AP Story

Justin Brownlee scored 15 points, including the game-changing basket with 10 seconds to play, and St. John's won its fifth straight, 61-58 over No. 13 Georgetown on Monday night at Madison Square Garden.

Dwight Hardy had 20 points to lead the Red Storm (10-3, 3-0), who are off to their best Big East start since 1999-2000 when they opened 4-0. They came into this game off two conference road wins and came up with another solid effort, especially on the defensive end.

Hollis Thompson had 16 points for the Hoyas (12-3, 1-2), who had won four of their last five and came into this game as the Big East's best 3-point shooting team but were just 4 of 17, including missing seven of eight in the second half.

I saw that briefly on ESPN2. Lavin looked like he was saying something and jt just gave him the dead fish and kept going. Lavin looked a little upset/surprised. He paused and looked back for a sec.

Idk what the attendence was but that was the loudest(pro stj) garden crowd i have heard in years. Look for even more fan support after that big win!!!

Great game great win.... its like watching a different team... Georgetown was loud at the garden though (probably had more fans than us) but I think were on our way to establishing a home court

Horne is a beast on the defensive end. That charge he took at the end of the game was great.

Just back from Garden and HArdy certainly played like the player of the week.  He is so calm out there but he is taking a leadership role.  his basket with a minute left was classic.  It was like he was making a statement--we need it and I want the ball to get it.  his drive after that with Brownlee getting the put back was fab! and then the 2FT's with 3 seconds left.  Money!   It was "Man-Hattanesque" performance.  he has played 2 complete games in a row; he has earned a rest (until ND-of course).
