box out and push the ball up the floor like we have been. i think we need a big game out of dj ND has a lot of big guys on the perimeter

40 mins of solid D.. Coach Lav needs to know when to switch defenses.. limit TO's like we've been doing plus balance scoring from JB1,JB2,Dwight, DJ and Paris..  we need Dele and Sean to give solid defense and rebounding

WV Prov and GT missed a lot of open threes. But I don't think ND will miss as many.

We'll need to be really active in our zone if we go zone. We'll need to win the battle on the glass, and focus on boxing out defensively.

I like our chances.

Keep the maliks on the bench and roll with whats got us here. JB's, dwight, dj, paris, polee. Keep the defensive intensity high, and if they can even step up another level.

Guard Abromitis like white on rice!

if they play the zone, and you know Lavs will start with it...the rotation better be quick bc ND loves to shoot.

If St. John's runs, they win...I don't think ND can keep up, they are more the spot up n shoot team

Man to man D with a little bit of 1-3-1 sprinkled  to keep them on their toes.  Paris on Abromaitis all game, I might even think about doing a box and one on them like we did against McAlarney when we beat them 2 years ago.

they kind of remind me of northwestern except they have better inside presence.  guard the three point line. they like shooting the threes and are a very good freethrowing team.

I think we need to penetrate in the half court and run as much as possible. We are quicker and more athletic than this team. I think our big men can get some baskets inside as well. On D we need to defend the 3 way better. A lot of teams early have missed open 3's against us but ND won't, they have too many good shooters. If we play the 3 ball well and get inside on offense we can win this game.

just use the triple option that Navy uses and we will win 35-17.  our triple option will be a double J&B and Hardy.  good, crisp ball movement will make the offense happen.  On defense need to let Abro and Hanesborogh score their combined average (about 40) but prevent anyone else from going off.  we are lucky that Scott is out, he could be a difference maker on the boards and draw fouls.

last year we went 10 for 20 for 3 pointers.  will we take more than 8 "3 pointers" this year?  Leave the black uniforms home and we have a good chance with game in the 60's.

We should see our zone put to a good test.  Steve's changes throughout the game can prove bothersome.

Ha!  Even as a huge ND football fan I laughed out loud at that redslope.

We gotta play a swarming zone - if we are in the zone - but I think man will ultimately be better against ND.  Shooters are too good.  Let's not underestimate their bigs.  Nash battled against rick jackson.

Yep its all about Abromitis.....simply cannot let him catch it behind  the 3....he is tall and will shoot it over you.....don't let him catch it and get a look. If he is muzzled they are in trouble. Justin can beat their post down court along with general  transition opportunities will be there. in the half court....just keep doing what has been working great......2nd gear.......inside/out ......working for high % shots

Ben Hansbrough impressed the hell out of me the other night offensively and defensively. He penetrated and made some nice passes, I didnt think he had that in his game. Gotta keep the ball out of his hands. On defense, he frustrated the hell out of Kemba Walker, in his jock all over the court and didnt let Kemba get off.  Hansbrough and Tim Abromaitis might be the best 1-2 punch in the Big East. Also, those ND bigs hustle for every loose ball and rebound, St Johns cant get lazy-all must crash the boards. I wonder if Lavin uses Evans and Coker a bit here?

Defend the 3pt line and push the ball whenever we can.

Dele Coker commits unintentional intentional fouls until ND doesn't have any players left.

drive to the hoop and get them in foul trouble. if either hardy or dj has more than 10 ft attempts, its gunna be a good night.
