Can we get another big road win?  Would love to shove Pitino's preseason rank down his throat.

The Johnnies have experience and talent, but will need to overcome a hyped up Louisville squad at home and coming off a highly emotional comeback victory. While the Cardinals could fall victim to a let down following such an emotional high, I’m going with last year’s loss in Madison Square Garden as motivation enough to keep Louisville focused.

And with this Cardinal team playing like they are, ranking among the top 15 nationally in steals (10.0, 4th), assists (18.2, 5th), average three-point goals (9.4, 9th), blocked shots (6.1, 10th) and scoring offense (80.7, 13th), St. John’s will not have enough firepower to keep up.

Spend more than three decades around college basketball, and you're bound to see just about everything.

So Louisville coach Rick Pitino isn't exactly reveling in his team's remarkable comeback against Marquette on Saturday.

The Cardinals trailed by 18 with 5:44 remaining before closing the game with a 24-5 flurry. Forward Kyle Kuric's lay-up with 4 seconds remaining lifted Louisville to an improbable 71-70 victory and provided the program's new downtown arena with its first signature moment.

While allowing the rally was a ''once in a 10-15 year'' event, Pitino told his players to relish the moment but don't dwell on it. He's been on both sides of them, including leading Kentucky back from a 31-point deficit against LSU 17 years ago, the greatest comeback in college basketball history.

put horne on knowles and take him out of the game. than they become really beatable

I dont know a ton about Louisville, besides the win against Marquette I have barely watched them. Knowles is a good player who can really shoot the 3 but besides him they depend on a number of different players to score. They are pretty deep and besides Knowles there is little difference between there starters and backups. They can really score and are 5th in the nation in assists so they distribute extremely well also. This game is going to be about whether we can stop there offense, but if we cant stop them like we did ND can we score with them? Louisville 74 SJU 69.

If we go man to man, I think we beat them.

St. John's is halfway through perhaps the most intimidating stretch on any college basketball team's schedule, eight straight games against teams in the Top 25. The Red Storm has won two and lost two. And after beating then-No. 9 Notre Dame on Sunday, the Johnnies are emboldened heading into Wednesday night's Big East road game against No. 19 Louisville.

As recently as a year ago, the idea of running such a gauntlet would have been daunting. Not this time around.

"Now it's like we know we can beat any team on every given night as long as we play our style of basketball," senior guard Dwight Hardy said. "Last year our minds were set like, 'Uh oh, we have another (big) game - let's see how it plays out,' instead of compared to this year when we go into the game knowing we can win the game."

Dwight Hardy arrived at St. John's with the same reputation as so many other prep players coming out of the city: He could score. He had a wicked in-and-out move to the basket and knew how to use his body to draw contact.

And he could shoot.

New St. John's coach Steve Lavin watched two workouts and concluded that Hardy was as good a pure shooter as he ever has coached.

So naturally the thing to do was to move Hardy from his natural shooting guard spot to the point.

Why? WE can get spanked with or without Hardy. Im sick of watching him complain after he gets his sht thrown while the his man drills a 3 at the other end

And as I type this Boothe misses a jumper, Louisville gets a fast break and the only 1 back on D is Burrell. Where are the other guards? Hardy brings nothing to the table against the better Big East teams.

Cameron Edison, Kevin Clark,Rob Thomas,Stith and Horne shoud start the next game, With Evans the 6th man. Oh and Dunlap and Gene Keady can stay home

Hard to win when the other team doesn't miss.

Not sure I understood the game plan.  On offense slow it down until 15 on the shot clock and then turnaround and press them? 

Must win game against Cincy...its going to be a tough game.
