Another night, another test for St. John’s. Only this time, it came from a team that many felt were a fluke despite a coach with a Hall of Fame resume that just happened to pick tonight’s opponent to win the conference before the season even started.

In one of the more one-sided games of the season for the Red Storm, they were simply no match for 15th-ranked Louisville, (15-3, 4-1 in the Big East) who overpowered the Johnnies (11-6, 4-3) by the final of 88-63 on the Cardinals’ home court at the newly-opened Yum! Center. Preston Knowles led the way for Louisville with 25 points, while Kyle Kuric added 20 on 7-of-9 shooting (5-of-7 from three-point range) and Peyton Siva had a near-triple-double with 10 points, 10 assists and seven steals.

WHAT IT MEANS: St. John's drops to 11-6 overall, and 4-3 in the Big East. Losing on the road to the No. 15 team in the country is no embarrassment. However, getting blown out on the road for the second straight time is verydisappointing.

Louisville improves to 15-3 on the season, and 4-1 in the conference.

From boys to men, to men to boys.

It was just this Sunday that Notre Dame coach Mike Brey lauded the testosterone level of the 2010-11 St. John's team. They are men he declared after an 18-point loss.

Yes, the Johnnies were big, bad hombres on Sunday. But last night they were little, soft chicos.

They wilted in the face of short-handed Louisville's relentless pressure, turning over the ball a season-high 25 times in an 88-63 loss in the KFC Yum! Center.

It was their worst loss of the season and their worst Big East loss since a 74-45 blowout to Marquette in the 2009 Big East Conference Tournament.
