Is it me or does Lavin just get on every show and plug, plug, and plug away. I know St. John's is always in the news but Lavin seems to be putting in extra effort getting out there.

No, he's REALLY good at it. The whole thing about giving his number to everyone - he has been grinding hard for exposure for the school and team in a way no previous coach has.  His gift of gab and friendly promotion is one of his biggest strengths.

I honestly can't believe some school didn't take a chance on him before for that reason alone. (I guess NC State did, but their loss. They struggle to get notice down in Raleigh-Durham.)

heard him this afternoon on our fellow alumni's show.  got a love how easy he talks when doing an interview and it was great to hear him remind the interviewer that he is a SJU alumnus!  at least he didn't have Calhoun on today.  Has a new day dawned????????

Lavin did the same thing when Mike interviewed him earlier in the season..saying 'its great to hear compliment from a st johns alum' and how we need 'all johnnies' on board with the program. Of course Mike essentially laughed it off, but its great to see Lavin calling him out again...already 2 more times than Norm ever did...

I dont think Francessa can name 1 player on the team. Its a shame St Johns beats Duke, and he talks about the Wilpons and Bernie Madoff all day

The Pack do get quite a bit of notice in the ever growing R-D area. Due to the proximity and large state school fan base, they have the second-most fans in the area. The boosters I know were actually more interested in Calipari than Lavin. Lowe'll need a dramatic turnaround to keep his job.
