Not sure if Sports by Brooks is spreading rumors to put this out there, but from his Facebook:

Wyoming hoops coaching search: Mike Dunlap getting consideration. Jeremy Cox still in running. Those are only two names I'm hearing. Since so many coaches have turned job down, Wyoming bumping pay to $600,000. Considerable bump from what Heath Schroyer made ($160,000). Interim Fred Langley trying to get job - probably won't. Wyoming AD met with team today to update them on the search. #gopokes

I'm not so sure that either of these guys are going to be in such a hurry to clean up a mess at two awful programs.
I mean Wyoming? Seriously. Who would go there for anything?

yeah if my memory serves me correctly, i think he was offered an interim position and turned it down because he didn't want the interim tag.

i dont think dunlap leaves this year. he is making more than the hc position at wyoming will offer.

he has moved all over the country the last few years, which could be an argument both ways, that 1. he probably doesn't want to move again for the 3rd straight year, or 2. by accepting the wyoming job, he may not have to move again for a few years.

Remember that his family is (or is comfortable) in Colorado, so Wyoming could have more appeal. If they're really paying 600K - isn't that more than he's getting in NYC? But Wyoming isn't an easy sell to recruits.

Dunlap was offered the INTERIM position at Arizona, but it was clear that while the interim head would have a chance to interview, that AZ wanted a bigger, more established name to head the program. They were fantasizing about Jamie Dixon.  So Russ Pennell got the interim spot with Dunlap as co-HC.

(Pennell's at some D-II school. Grand Canyon University, a DII in Phoenix.)

If im an AD of a school and ive seen what has happened to the seniors on our roster and how far they have come in just this one year. Im gonna go ahead and ask to talk to dunlap about an open coaching position.

Wouldn't be shocked if Dunlap deflected however it would have to be an ideal situation for him. He can be picky and patient because he's making very good money right now.

I'm under the impression that Dunlap makes $400,000 here. Combined with the $400,000 from Oregon this year, he can work at St. John's for two years without losing any income by turning down the Wyoming job.

After next season, a better job than Wyoming may be available to him for more money.

Of course, if I'm way off on his St. John's salary, then he'll probably think about Wyoming pretty hard.

Why Rohrssen? He has contacts, but Lavin is a closer, Tony and Mo know the city... unless Rohrssen has great contacts outside of the city or is an x and o's marvel, Slice seems a little redundant. He'd be helpful, but not so helpful that Lavin would want to give up on the chance of moving Mo up to full assistant instead of DOBO.

congrats on the blow out win marco. I would be real happy if mitch stepped down but i dont see him gone for a couplle years now. one thing is for sure, he cant coach
