that was one of the worst games they have played all season. so lucky to escape with a W and that they didnt review the clock at the end. what the F was brownlee doing/thinking there?!?!?! They better get it together real quick or tomorrow is going to be a 30 pt loss.

i dont think we beat an 11/12/13 seed in the tourney if we play like that

Awful officiating all around. I thought there were some ticky tack calls against SJU in the 1st half(2 of the "fouls" were absolutely nothing)

2nd half....two awful calls vs St Johns including Evans getting robbed of a basket that should have been a goaltend. And when under 2 minutes where the ball went off of RU but they said that it last touched St Johns for some magical reason.

The last minute though was a joke though....even though I think Doris "I am terrible at calling games" Burke was overblowing that Kennedy foul(The RU guy jumped in IMO), the over the back and Brownlee stupidly running out of bounds throwing the ball should have been called no excuses. Rutgers got bent so badly in the  final minute that I don't even feel excited about the win today.

If SJU plays like this vs Cuse tomorrow, they're going to get waxed. Nothing against RU as well...they played great defensively. But if they just made their shots, STJ would have lost no doubt.

We get the same terrible ESPN crew for tomorrow's game...Ugh.

The officiating was awful the whole game.  Everyone talks abt how the big east lets you play, but it's getting ridiculous.  Players getting thrown to the ground all game, body and arm contact the rim all game on both sides.  THe no calls set the tone for the physical play from both teams.   It was just Rutgers turn to get the short end of the stick in the final minute.  How does that not get reviewed?  Horrendous job by the crew.

BTW, i think Lavin's decision (since he clapped when it happened i assume it was a call from the bench) to foul up three with 17 seconds left was a bad decision.  First if you do it, let more than 3 seconds come off the clock, and dont foul 60 feet away from the rim.  It's not a guarantee that Hardy even gets the ball, or that Hardy sinks both.  Also, you have to deal with full court pressure again , which caused the turnover.

Nice job Sean Evans, earning your minutes.

That was one of the most Crazy Bizarre endings to a game ever.

Besides that. What an awful effort from the team today. They better get everything together before they play tomorrow at 2 or it is going to be real ugly.

great point about fouling when rutgers had the ball down 3 and 15 secs left. why do that there?!?! why? there is not one good reason. horrible call by lavin. he was still 10 ft behind half court. that is unexplainable and i want to know what the hell he was thinking.

where was burrell today? 6th man of the year? he better how up against a much bigger longer cuse team tomorrow

These kids have played over a 120 games since they got here. When you play that many games, you're going to lose some that you deserved to win, and you're gonna win some that you deserved to lose.

I'll take it. We live to fight. Hardy was off, but not terrible. We're going to need him and JB2 to give us their best tomorrow. I don't expect to beat SU, but it's damn well time we took it to them.

In our house.

YES.

No one seemed to notice the out of bounds call(S) that went the other way, and I'd think, there were 3 Knights there! They ALL slapped it out!

This stuff happens.

And Lavin's choice to foul was flat out not a good call. You do that up 3 with 7 seconds or less. With 15 seconds, you play defense. Wrong, wrong, wrong choice.

the way i see it is this: yeah, we may have gotten lucky, so what. we have been on the other end of luck for a few years now. a win is a win.

yes it was ugly. but so was the last rutgers game, then we rattle off 6 conference wins. (i realize the ucla game was the game following rutgers but thats a different story in my book. cross country flight, non conference game mid schedule, etc)

not to mention i think we have been playing down to competition. i know we'll bring it tomorrow.

Higgins and Burr showed today that time has passed them by.  It is time for them to hang up their whistles.  Not only did they blow calls. they were totally blown out by our running game.  they could not keep up.  They should not ref another game this year or in years to come.

The way the team has played the last three games I am wondering if they have hit a wall and are just too tired.  unlike the rest of the conference, they played 2 additional games during the conference schedule including a trip to the west coast.  Does anyone think it is catching up to them?  Cuse had a week  off during the Big East season (game on 2/26 and next game 3/5)

Boothe and Evans played GREAT today.  Let's hope Hardy gets his magic shooting touch back or its gonna be another long day against Cuse tomorrow.

The game was not good. I expect that one of the reasons would be because the players were thinking about Syracuse and not Rutgers.

Not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere, but it sure seemed like Fraschilla was openly rooting for Rutgers. It seemed more than just a former coach trying to look objective. I thought he as going to cry afterward. Does he hate Lavin or something?

Fran hates the SJ's admin, but in fairness, so do most of our fans. What's to like?

Sorry, I didn't follow the team then, didn't he bail on the Redmen after 2 years instead of the other way around? If he can't be objective he shouldn't cover the conference.
