Taking a beating. St Johns,Louisville,Villanova,Georgetown and now West Virginia gone. Another will be gone tonight and another tomorrow. In my money pool, I got Marquette beating Cuse than UNC

In reality, only Pitt, Uconn, Cuse, and ND had realistic title hopes.  The rest, while mostly deserving to get in, weren't winning anything.  Until those top teams go down,  i wouldn't call it anything more than the ebb and flow of the tourney.

Bye bye Pitt. Jamie Dixon is March Madness Kryptonite.
That had to have been the dumbest foul I've ever seen, followed by one even dumber.

Zags has got to be on suicide watch.

Pitt lost in near miraculous fashion to #8 seed Butler.
91.5% of ESPN pools had Pitt reaching the Sweet 16.

That's got to be the most brutal way to lose a Tournament game I've ever seen. As soon as he hit the first FT shot, it was nearly impossible to lose it in regulation. Nasir Robinson found a way.

Just saw 2 of dumbest late fouls ever. No prob w/ either being called. But Nasir outdumbed/canceled Mack. Typical Pitt.

I want to see the remaining BE teams at least hold their own.
Can't see Marquette beating Ohio State, but SU could.

Uconn is off to a slow start tonight. Tired perhaps?

Part of me says the ref should've swallowed the whistle on the Robinson foul.

There were no great teams in the Big East this year.  We were still the best conference.  When Marquette is your 11th best team that's pretty good.

Agree, boo.  Pitt is gone now, as they usually find a way to flub it in the NCAA's.  But, I still thought Pitt and the other Big East teams you mentioned were the only conference teams capable of making it to the Final Four.  I wouldn't have said that about UCONN a week ago.  I still was questioning it when I took a look at the brackets.  I kept saying to myself, UCONN is capable of beating teams in this bracket.

We'll see how things shape up tomorrow.

I thought there were six teams that had a legitmate shot at winning the Tournament (Ohio St., Duke, Kansas, Purdue, Pitt, and Syracuse)-with Texas as an outside shot (offensive efficiency and Barne$ being the downsides).

Do you guys think the Big East teams have a tough time adjusting to the officiating in the tournament?

The worst part about the BE having a poor showing in the tournament is that Charles Barkley can sit back and say "i told you so".

JumpinJ-  to some extent i think so  re: officiating.

Honestly, the officiating has somewhat allowed the guys to play this season.  It's a lil' different this season than it's been in the past.

Tell me about it, boo.  IMO, that is the worst part about the Big East losing in the tournament.  We gotta hear him spew his garbage.

The BE did it to themselves. Why is there a conference with 16 teams? We had one BE team take out another last night. And it will happen again tonight. Barkley is dumb. He is only tv because he says dumb sh*t, and Americans love to watch people who do that.

Still, Pitt choked. We choked. Louisville choked. The BE is too deep, and too much work. Most teams get to beat up on garbage regularly in their conference, we've made it impossible by adding so many teams.

I agree--the depth of the league requires our teams to peak in January/February.  the Butlers, Dukes, and Zags know they can get through their leagues easily and look to peak in March for conference tournament play-ins and the the big tournament
