« on: April 01, 2011, 06:03:11 PM »
Not an April Fools joke...

was just flipping around and caught the end of the wheel house on sny.  At the end of the show Sal Licata said he took the job.

i dont know how connected Licata is to the situation, just relaying what i heard.

So far, i have found nothing on the internet.

Rohrssen on speed dial?

not sure. He's more a recruiter, isn't he?  Mo Hicks get promoted to the bench?  Keady take a more proactive role?  Lots of options.  No need to rush IMO

I think I remember seeing that Lavin promised Hicks an assistant coach spot on the bench when someone left for a job.

St. John's assistant Mike Dunlap is one coach the committee could speak with in Houston. His name re-emerged Friday after rising to the surface early on in the search and then slowly sinking back into the jumbled mix. Dunlap was linked Friday when SNY.tv quoted "a source with knowledge" as saying Dunlap will "give consideration" to the Bulldogs.

The 53-year-old has bounced to three different schools in the past three years, assisting at Arizona, Oregon (under former Ducks coach and potential Fresno State candidate Ernie Kent) and St. John's. Before that, Dunlap was an assistant for the NBA's Denver Nuggets and won two Division II national titles as head coach at Denver's Metropolitan State College.

Dunlap, who also coached at Cal Lutheran, USC and in Australia, could not be reached for comment Friday. One of his sons is expected to play basketball at Fresno City College next season.

Honestly, we really don't need Rohrssen.  Lavin and Chiles does a helluva job recruiting on their own, so that takes Rohrssen out of the equation, if you ask me.  Promote Mo Hicks or bring in someone else of similiar value to Dunlap when and if he does depart.

Got this on Zags

**St. John’s assistant Mike Dunlap told The Fresno Bee via email that he is no longer a candidate for the Fresno State job. Ohio State assistant Jeff Boals is reportedly  the leader there.
