What's up with Sportsillustrated.cnn.com?
« on: May 03, 2011, 02:21:55 PM »
They NEVER, EVER update their SJU BB webpage to provide current news regarding the team.  Example, you had to click on UW's webpage on the CNN/SI website to learn that God's Gift chose SJU over UW.  Also, the SJU webpage lists Newsday, St. John's Official Site, The Torch and Rivals.com as "Red Storm Fan Sites" (pathetic).   Anyone have any connections with the SI website crew to get them to start showing our team some love?

I understand that SI.com is not the first source a hard core fan would access to learn of breaking news regarding the team, but since SI is a well-recognized institution in sporting news, the lack of attention given to SJU is kind of embarrassing.

Thanks jr49.  I saw that article posted on SI too.  But click on College BB on SI.com's home page and scroll down to the College Basketball Team Pages.  You'll notice that every college BB team listed in that caption OTHER THAN SJU has a team webpage that is updated with various news articles and/or blogs pertaining to that team, and it's been that way for a while.  It's not like SJU hasn't made news in the last several months relative to other college BB teams with updated webpages.  Maybe SI's webmasters decided that there's not enough interest in SJU's bb team to invest the effort to update the team's webpage?

Contact the schools SID.  They can't control what another site updates in terms of content but they could say something about the ancient Red Storm logo they are using.

Like you said in your first post that site isn't exactly a site that people run to for news especially regarding college hoops and STJ.
