why is everyone hating on the kid? he did exactly what he had to do in there against miami. Is he a very good center? no. Does anyone think that? no. He does the little things and he had pretty good numbers. He got a good amount of boards made 2-4 shots with some nice put backs. He blocked a shot and altered even more. Another thing that has been underrated is his hands and passing. Yes, our offensive system is well... offensive. Tomas though does a good job at the top of the key receiving and passing the ball. He does well passing out of the post as well. How much more do you expect from him?

My one flaw is that I think he does bad in extended minutes. I think you have to limit his time on the court as his motor runs out. If you keep him on the court for 4 min spurts he does well at high energy play but when you leave him in for 8 he fades.

JJ agree with your post. Tomas & Coker  aren't great athletes but they know their roles (picks, boxing out, outlet pass,a put back sometimes). As defenders Tomas is playing with his hands straight up,Coker is reaching. Both these guys lack quickness which hurt us last game.

The "flaw" is that he cannot play defense wortha damn :(

Tomas blocks and alters shots. He isn't a stud but he gets the little things done and thats what we're asking of him. To expect a whole bunch out of him is ridiculous but I think he is giving a little more than what should be expected of him

Right on with this post JJ ...

He played a very serviceable game and did everything we needed from him.  My only complaint is the silly fouls that he gets.  I think he is very intelligent though and knows our offense better then most, therefore when hes in everything just flows a lot better.

TJ was a positive in this game.  He maximized his talent.  Unfortunately TJ is a backup on a good day.

the moving pick was the right call...if you're not cheating you're not trying and tomas was trying to give his man the edge haha. Seriously though I loved that tip in he had and he is active in 4 min spans...take it for what it is worth and maximize it

Wow, he had 7 boards.  He still makes silly fouls and cant score.  Yeah he got a few tips but he has no post up moves.  I heard some people say he can shoot the ball, but I can to in practice.  He should not be our starter in year four but he is and probabaly will be in year 5

he CAN score.  norm needs to run plays for him.  he's a high energy guy who has come a long way in two years.

I like his effort newsman13 but I cant recall one set play which is run for him. Can you?  He wont be able to contribue offensively this year, and probably not next year.  Maybe 6 six a game, not enough for this offensively weak frontcourt.  Watch this guy on UCONN Thabeet i think his name is, he going to crush us, HE is someone who has come along way in one year.

that's my point...there are no set plays for him.  maybe if they had a couple, he could score 8-10 a game.

I dont think he has any post up game.  He rarely calls for the ball, and most of the time he is not even looked at.  You would think he would make an effort to show what he has got if he had anything.  (offensively speaking)  I see him at the top of the key alot setting screens and picks.  Thats about it.

Maybe Norm should work on it, instead of teaching Geno how to throw up NBA's 3's
